Every year at WrestleMania, fans always ask themselves, “Which legend will appear”? This year, The Rock, The Final Boss’ name, has appeared in many of those conversations. Last year at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Rock teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in the Main Event of WrestleMania Saturday. The Bloodline ended up winning that match.
Since WrestleMania 40, The Rock has made multiple appearances on WWE TV. He appeared on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 40 on April 8. At Bad Blood on October 5, The Rock returned to confront Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, making a hand gesture before the show went off the air. On January 6, at the Raw on Netflix premiere, The Rock opened up the show, but not in his Final Boss character. The Rock thanked the Netflix executives and later congratulated his cousin Reigns after regaining his Ula Fala.
The Rock confronted Cody Rhodes at SmackDown on February 21 and wanted Rhodes to be his champion. At Elimination Chamber on March 1, Rhodes declined his offer, and John Cena joined The Rock to beat down Rhodes to end the event. That leads us to this weekend’s WrestleMania 41 event.
Will the Final Boss show up at the biggest event of the year? I fully expect The Rock to make an appearance at WrestleMania Sunday. As we have recently seen, most WWE championship matches have interference, and I expect nothing less from this new heel faction. If Rhodes loses his title to Cena, it won’t be via a clean finish and will most likely involve others. Last year at WrestleMania 40, we saw The Undertaker, The Rock, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Cena all intervene in the Main Event.
Even though The Rock hasn’t appeared on TV since aligning with Cena, he is still a big part of this storyline, and his involvement can take it to the next level.
