Week 6 of the NFL season has arrived! The fantasy tight end landscape is in a state of constant flux, so it’s time to take a deeper dive into that position.
Let’s break down my Week 6 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football TE picks.
Start ‘Em: Kyle Pitts (Falcons) at Panthers
In the current tight end landscape, we’re left to play catch-up on a weekly basis. After four weeks of dismal production, many fantasy managers gave up on Pitts.
Naturally, he produced his best outing of the season in the very next game, racking up seven receptions for 88 yards against Tampa Bay. Now, this isn’t all on the 24-year-old tight end. His spike in volume is a direct correlation to Kirk Cousins breaking out of his slump, as the veteran quarterback threw for 509 yards in the win.
This week, I’m banking on another strong showing from Cousins against a vulnerable Panthers defense. Carolina allows the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends, opening the door for Pitts to keep his positive momentum rolling.
Sit ‘Em: Dalton Kincaid (Bills) at Jets
With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis gone, many were expecting Kincaid to push for the overall TE1 spot amidst a breakout campaign this year.
Through five games, that just hasn’t been the case. The target share has improved slightly over his last two contests, but Kincaid has failed to score double-digit fantasy points in four of his five outings. Josh Allen is also banged up entering a tough Monday night tilt against the Jets, who allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends.
Kincaid will almost certainly figure things out at some point and start producing, but I don’t like his chances of doing so this week.

Start ‘Em: Tucker Kraft (Packers) vs. Cardinals
After three weeks of scoring fewer than six PPR points, Kraft exploded for 42.1 over his last two games.
Those outings were enough to elevate him all the way to TE3 on the year. That’s how shallow the fantasy tight end landscape has been thus far. We’ve been left to play catch-up at this position every week, which can lead to overreactions on the waiver wire. That said, it’s fair to assume Kraft will continue to rack up targets after his pair of productive games, especially against a porous Cardinals secondary.
Sit ‘Em: Cole Kmet (Bears) vs. Jaguars
Kmet’s snap rate is up, but his production has tapered off since his Week 3 outburst.
The 25-year-old has been tasked with keeping Caleb Williams safe as a blocker more often than not this season, and that will likely remain the case until Chicago’s offensive line gets its act together. This week, the Bears take on the Jaguars, who are surprisingly stout against opposing tight ends. Jacksonville allows fewer than 10 points to the position on a weekly basis.
After seeing just seven targets across his last two games, Kmet is best left on your bench this week.
