In recent seasons, even-numbered years have been a curse for Dak Prescott. He suffered an ankle fracture and dislocation in 2020, a thumb injury in 2022, and a hamstring injury in 2024, each of which cost him significant time.
So far in 2026, Prescott has been healthy and playing at an MVP level in 2026. He’s on pace to set new career highs in completion percentage, passer rating, and QBR, and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is on pace to break the single-season record for receiving yards.
Tonight, Prescott will play in prime time for the second time this season when the Cowboys host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday Night Football clash.
Dallas is an 8.5-point favorite for tonight’s matchup at DraftKings Sportsbook (-470 on the Moneyline), with the point total set to 48.5. Tampa Bay is +360 on the Moneyline.
Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bet centered around the Cowboys’ career leader in completion percentage, passing yards, passing touchdowns, and passer rating.

Dak Prescott 24+ Completions (-115)
Prescott had a rough first game of the season, completing just 22 passes and throwing an interception as Dallas lost, 28-20, on Sunday Night Football to the New York Giants. However, he’s completed at least 25 passes in each of his last three games, totaling a 71.6% completion percentage, 890 yards, six touchdowns, and no picks in that span. In the Cowboys’ Week 4 win against the Houston Texans, Prescott completed 17 passes to Lamb alone.
The 33-year-old is supremely accurate. This season, he ranks seventh in completion percentage over expectation, the sixth time in the nine seasons that the stat has been tracked that he has finished inside the top 10. He also makes bad throws at a below-average clip, and he’s produced turnover-worthy plays at the seventh-lowest rate among the 26 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks this season.
Plus, Brian Schottenheimer’s game plans should allow him to succeed. He’s made pretty conservative passes this season, averaging the 11th-fewest intended air yards per passing attempt, but he plays in the eighth-most pass-happy offense. Dallas also runs play action relatively infrequently, since Javonte Williams isn’t enough of a rushing threat to open up that schematic pathway, but that works in Prescott’s favor, since he’s recorded the league’s highest offensive grades in non-PA situations.
The Buccaneers should be a pretty good matchup. Although Tampa Bay has had an average secondary overall, it has conceded the fifth-highest completion percentage. The Buccaneers also rarely get pressure, and when kept clean, Prescott’s passing grades trail only Lamar Jackson’s, as he’s completed more than 80% of his passes in such situations. Joe Burrow and Deshaun Watson have both completed at least 24 passes in games against Tampa Bay this season, and that was with now-injured starters Antoine Winfield Jr. and Benjamin Morrison both playing. I don’t expect the Buccaneers’ offense to control much of the ball, given how much they struggled in Week 4 behind rookie starter Jalon Daniels.
