Devens won the Blockbuster for the second straight week. Angela went home in the closest vote of the season. Barrett’s big swing ended with the bat hitting him in the face. And now, with a double eviction coming Thursday, things get especially interesting with two Survivor veterans hunting for payback.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?
Devens won the BB Blockbuster — his second straight — in a puzzle competition called “Reinvent The Wheel,” taking himself off the block and leaving Dee and Angela as the final nominees. What should have been a straightforward Icon eviction turned into a masterclass in persuasion from Dee.
Dee campaigned hard to Yash and Taylor, pitching herself as a shield who would target Drew and Barrett. She argued the numbers game could turn against them if a Drew-Barrett-Melody trio formed, and that sitting next to either Yash or Taylor at the end, Dee would lose. Taylor even acknowledged out loud that the fact Dee was able to turn them against their own plan should have been a sign of how dangerous she is. They kept her anyway.
Angela was evicted 3-2. Devens, Taylor and Yash voted to evict Angela. Drew and Melody voted to evict Dee — protecting Barrett’s HOH and staying loyal to the newbie ceasefire that Yash and Taylor just abandoned.
The power rankings called it one of the most confounding eviction outcomes in recent Big Brother history. Barrett’s HOH was labeled a failure. Yash’s decision was called hypocritical — he’d railed against the vets all season and mocked Drew for aligning with them, then sided with the Icons when it mattered most. Dee reclaimed the No. 1 ranking, with the power rankings arguing she’s proven she’s the player to beat. If she reaches a Final Two with Yash, between this save and the BB Bribe, it’s hard to see how a juror doesn’t vote for her.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight
The HOH competition — with a double eviction on deck
Barrett is ineligible as outgoing HOH, leaving six competitors: Dee, Devens, Drew, Melody, Taylor and Yash. This HOH matters more than usual because Thursday’s episode is a special two-hour double eviction — two houseguests will be sent to jury in a single night. Whoever wins Sunday’s HOH sets the table not just for one eviction but for the chaos of a compressed second round where an entire HOH reign plays out in minutes.
The Icons need this HOH badly. Dee promised Yash and Taylor she’d target Drew and Barrett if she survived. Devens has sworn revenge on Barrett since the nominations. Winning power would let them follow through immediately — and with a double eviction coming, they could potentially see two enemies leave in the same week.
But the BB Bribe complicates things for Yash. If he wins HOH, he still can’t nominate Dee or Devens. That means Yash would be forced to target his own “allies” — Barrett, Melody, Taylor — as well as Drew at the worst possible time. The power rankings noted this is exactly why voting out Dee when he had the chance would have been a no-brainer. Now the Bribe is still hanging around his neck.
Dee at No. 1 — and more dangerous than ever
After surviving a nomination that should have ended her game, Dee’s back at the top of power rankings. Andy Silva describes her save as a magic trick worthy of Houdini and argues that if she reaches a Final Two with Yash, the combination of this escape and the BB Bribe deal makes her nearly unbeatable with an impartial jury.
Dee’s campaign pitch — that she’d target Drew and Barrett — now has to be tested. If she wins HOH, does she follow through? Or does she pivot? Dee has spent most of the season targeting people who weren’t the Icons’ real threats (Mallory, Drew) while the actual opposition grew around her. The power rankings have questioned her messiness all season. But her social game just accomplished something no competition win could — she talked two opponents into keeping her alive when they had every reason to send her home.
The scariest version of Dee is the one who’s been on the block, survived, and now believes she has nothing to lose. She told the diary room after the veto ceremony that if she stays, the game is just starting. She wasn’t bluffing.
Barrett’s fall
Barrett dropped three spots to No. 5 after what the power rankings called a complete failure of an HOH. The criticism was specific: putting all three Icons up was a good move in a vacuum, but Barrett didn’t do the work to make sure it landed. He chose Yash over Drew for the veto competition, alienating his closest ally and allowing a comp beast to take control. He hid in the HOH room for most of the week instead of campaigning. He left Dee free rein to work Yash and Taylor unchecked.
Barrett’s biggest flaw resurfaced at the worst time. Earlier in the season, the power rankings criticized him for taking weeks off and chilling. Mallory’s eviction activated him. Winning HOH gave him the shot he’d been waiting for. But after taking the big swing, he clocked out and assumed the work was done. Now Dee and Devens are both in the house, both furious, and both coming for him. Barrett can’t compete in Sunday’s HOH. If an Icon wins, he’s the obvious target.
Yash’s hypocrisy problem
Yash dropped two spots to No. 3. The power rankings were blunt — after spending all season railing against the vets and mocking Drew for being their lapdog, Yash sided with the Icons in the biggest vote of the summer. He kept Dee, the player he literally cannot nominate, when she was already on the block and the votes were there to send her home.
The power rankings compared the decision to Drew’s season-long loyalty to the Icons and called it hypocritical. Yash’s vendetta against Drew has been a defining storyline — he’s called Drew spineless, questioned his game, and blamed him for Kamu’s eviction. Now Yash has done the same thing Drew has been criticized for: protected an Icon when it didn’t serve his game.
Yash is still a comp beast and still has a strong case to win. But the power rankings warned this vote could be a turning point. Dee has already proven she can talk him into things. What happens next time she needs a favor?
