BREAK IT DOWN:
(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+218): The public is backing Schwarber in the early game in Philadelphia against the White Sox this Friday. The slugging lefty leads the majors with 23 homers this season, with 12 of those homers coming in his last 22 games. In those, he has a 56% hard-hit rate and an impressive 28% barrel rate. Schwarber has hit 14 of his 23 home runs in the friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park, where he’ll take on lefty Anthony Kay on Friday night. Kay has allowed eight homers in his 12 games this season, including five in his five road starts. Lefties haven’t hit any of those homers yet, but Schwarber typically has no problem against southpaws, hitting seven homers with a .420 wOBA on that side of his splits this season.
James Wood 1+ Home Run (+316): Wood is out west with the Nationals this week to start a series against the Diamondbacks and starter Merrill Kelly. Kelly has given up 10 homers in his nine starts this season, including four long balls in his 17 1/3 innings at home at Chase Field. Lefties like Wood have hit seven of those 10 homers against Kelly, compiling a 51.9% hard-hit rate, 21.2% barrel rate, and a .299 ISO. Wood has 16 homers on the season, with 12 against righties like Kelly and an impressive 25% barrel rate on the season, which is the highest of any player in the majors.
Yordan Alvarez 1+ Home Run (+329): We round out our trio of power-hitting lefties in today’s most popular bets on DraftKings Sportsbook with Yordan Alvarez of the Astros. Alvarez has 21 homers on the season and six in his last 10 games. He has hit .365 at home but just .265 on the road, although his power numbers are fairly consistent on both sides of the split. He’ll be at home for Friday’s matchup against the A’s, who will start Jack Perkins for the first time this season. The 26-year-old righty is 2-2 with a 5.46 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in his 17 games out of the bullpen. He has only worked more than two innings four times this season, but he did work 4 2/3 innings last week against Seattle. He could be just a little limited in his first start of the season, but regardless, Alvarez has enough potential to go yard in any matchup to be worth considering as one of the top home run props on the board.
3-Pick Same Game Parlay
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
