Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski exited Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals early due to injury.
Per The Athletic’s Spencer Nusbaum, Misiorowski walked off the mound in the bottom of the sixth inning and called the trainer out. He exited the game, but no further injury update has been announced yet.
Departing Friday’s contest is particularly unfortunate for the young star. Misiorowski tossed 5.1 innings without allowing a hit, also striking out eight batters. He hit 100+ mph on 40 of his pitches.
The 24-year-old fireballer has a 3.31 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 51 punchouts across his 32.2 innings of work this season. As expected, he grades out in the 99th percentile in fastball velocity and has generated a 39.5% whiff rate and stellar 37.2% K%.
The Brewers are currently 16-14, sitting fourth in the NL Central. They’re 1.5 games shy of third place and 3.5 games behind first.
