Cameron Young
Young has been incredible and this is a great time to use him in one and done pools. In his last 13 starts, Young has finished inside the top 10 eight times. The 28-year-old began this run with his breakthrough six-shot win at the Wyndham Championship in August and he just won THE PLAYERS Championship last month. Young followed up his win at TPC Sawgrass with a T-3 at the Masters in his next start, which is his best finish to date at Augusta National.
Young has shot under par in 21 of his 32 rounds this season and he has moved himself up to No. 4 in the world golf rankings. This week, Young will be competing at the Blue Monster Course of Trump Doral in Miami, Florida, for the first time.
This par 72 measures in at 7,739 yards, making it the second-longest track on the PGA TOUR schedule this season. Strong drivers have had a big advantage at the Blue Monster in the past and Young is one of the best off-the-tee players in the world. Each of the past two winners at the Blue Monster finished the event top-10 in SG OTT and Young ranks 10th in the metric this season.
Three of the last four winners at the Blue Monster have also led their fields in SG APP and Young fits this mold as well, ranking 18th in SG APP this season and gaining strokes on approach at five consecutive events.
Young winning THE PLAYERS Championship last month at another challenging Florida venue in TPC Sawgrass certainly bodes well for his chances at the Blue Monster and another encouraging sign is that this track presents Bermuda greens. Young’s top putting splits come on this type of putting surface and when he won the Wyndham Championship by six shots last August, he was competing on Bermuda greens at Sedgefield CC and he led the field in SGP.
Young’s game sets up perfectly for the Blue Monster and him securing his third PGA TOUR win this week is definitely a possibility. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Young carries the second-best odds to win the Cadillac Championship at +1250.
