Quarterback
Jared Goff (Detroit Lions) at Washington Commanders
Detroit’s pass game brings a steady burn. Goff has carved at 73% completions and 8.0 YPA, stacking 17–3 TD:INT with calm feet and ruthless tempo. Detroit’s early-down PROE sits positive the last month, and Ben Johnson keeps first reads clean near 65% of dropbacks. The engine is layered: play-action at a healthy clip, motion to tilt leverage, and glance/rail tags to punish single-high. That blend keeps windows honest and yards after catch alive.
Washington’s defense keeps breaking at stress points. Since Week 6, opponents have lived near +0.18 EPA/dropback with a 55% success rate through the air. Explosives arrive too easily: thirty-plus gains have stacked, and red-zone coverage hasn’t closed the vise. Pressure shows in flashes, not waves, and a middling pass-rush win rate leaves the back end exposed. Detroit doesn’t need chaos to score; routine concepts yield profit against loose zone landmarks.
The pocket math favors rhythm. Goff’s time-to-throw stays under 2.6 seconds, and his turnover-worthy rate remains low. On scripted downs, he’s north of 0.25 EPA/dropback, and the Lions’ play-action YPA spikes into the nines. Washington’s linebackers have struggled to midpoint crossers, which invites the deep over and dagger families. If safeties squeeze in-breakers, Johnson counters with rail and slot fades off motion.
I expect two to three scores, efficient yardage, and bonus explosives off play-action. Start him confidently; the scheme, environment, and math all point green.

Running Back
Sit ‘Em: Tyrone Tracy (New York Giants) at Chicago Bears
Fantasy managers rushed to the waiver wire to submit claims for Tyrone Tracy following Cam Skattebo’s season-ending injury in hopes of landing the elusive RB league winner in the second half of the season. One week into the Tracy RB1 experience, it hasn’t exactly played out like that.
Possibly because Tracy wasn’t actually the RB1 last Sunday. The second-year back only saw eight touches against the 49ers, accumulating 37 total yards on a 44% snap share. It was the veteran Devin Singletary who assumed the lead back role in a surprising twist. Now, Singletary didn’t do much with his opportunities either, but he out-touched Tracy 10-8 and played 56% of offensive snaps.
This leaves managers with no answers on how to proceed with Tracy for the remainder of the season, but the clear short-term decision is to bench the 25-year-old this week. The Bears are fresh off a ridiculous 47-42 win over Cleveland, and if they put up points like that again, Tracy will be forced out of the game script early.

Wide Receiver
Start ‘Em: Romeo Doubs (Green Bay Packers) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Yes, it’s true, I did label Jordan Love as my sit of the week at QB. However, if there is one member of Green Bay’s passing attack that should be started in fantasy, it’s Romeo Doubs.
The fourth-year receiver has emerged as Love’s go-to target thanks to a myriad of injuries, and even with Christian Watson now back in the equation it appears to be staying that way. Doubs has amassed double-digit fantasy points in four of the Packers’ last five outings, including a 16.1-point performance last week against Carolina. His target share has also been fantastic, dipping below eight looks just once over that span.
A matchup with Philly’s tough defense awaits, which could result in Green Bay having to turn to the air of Josh Jacobs can’t get anything going in the running game. Regardless of game script, Doubs is in line to play a significant role once again, putting him in high-end WR2 territory.

Tight End
Sit ‘Em: T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings) at Baltimore Ravens
Sit T.J. Hockenson vs. Ravens, even with J.J. McCarthy back. The usage desert hasn’t budged: routes in the mid-80% look healthy, yet the volume has cratered—target share 12–14%, first-read share 11–13%, rolling efficiency ~0.90 YPRR, aDOT 5–6. Red-zone leverage is thin: one high-value look across the last three, with a per-route red-zone rate under five percent. McCarthy stabilizes play-action and keeper, but his first-read map skews boundary—Jefferson and Addison on glance, speed-out, and comeback—while Hockenson lives on sit routes that require clean timing.
Baltimore is a bad lab for that timing. The Ravens sit top-three by EPA/dropback allowed with a 40% success rate against passes, and they generate top-tier pressure without sending extra bodies. That four-man heat lets them live in quarters-match and robber, erasing glance, buzzing crossers, and choking the very window Hockenson needs to catch on the move. They’ve been stingy versus the position all year: bottom-five in TE PPR points, sub-40 yards per game allowed to TEs, and a low red-zone TD rate that forces perfect sequencing. Pressure-to-sack conversion is efficient, too, which pushes checkdowns to backs instead of middle-field sits.
A low-40s total and a modest implied team number mean fewer trips inside the ten and less need to spam middle-field answers. If Minnesota leans boots, the eyes fly to Jefferson’s boundary ISO or Addison on the over; if they chase quick game, the ball comes out before Hockenson clears the hook/curl.
Against Baltimore’s structure and with McCarthy targeting early reads outside, Hockenson profiles as a volume-starved TE2. Park him and chase routes that own first reads and red-zone equity.
