RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks: Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start or Sit in Week 10

RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks: Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start or Sit in Week 10

Published:

By: Jeff Pratt

Heading into Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season, workloads, snap shares and more trends have been established across the league’s backfields. The fantasy RB landscape hasn’t played out as expected due to injuries, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of tough decisions to make. With that in mind, let’s break down my fantasy football RB start/sit Week 10 picks.

Check out my full Week 10 start/sit article with picks at each position here!

Start ‘Em: TreVeyon Henderson (New England Patriots) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Henderson finally got his shot as the lead back in New England, and he put together a solid performance against Atlanta. The rookie rushed 14 times for 55 yards on solid efficiency, but did most of his damage through the passing game, hauling in four receptions for 32 yards. All in all, it was a 12.5-point outing for Henderson. Not incredible, but decent against one of the NFL’s premier defenses.

This week, things will get a lot easier on paper against Tampa Bay. The Bucs are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing backs. Rhamondre Stevenson did not practice again on Wednesday, but even if the veteran does return, Henderson should be locked into double-digit touches. With Stevenson in the equation, the rookie holds PPR FLEX value, but if he’s forced to miss another week Henderson becomes a high-end RB2.

Sit ‘Em: Tyrone Tracy (New York Giants) at Chicago Bears

Fantasy managers rushed to the waiver wire to submit claims for Tyrone Tracy following Cam Skattebo’s season-ending injury in hopes of landing the elusive RB league winner in the second half of the season. One week into the Tracy RB1 experience, it hasn’t exactly played out like that.

Possibly because Tracy wasn’t actually the RB1 last Sunday. The second-year back only saw eight touches against the 49ers, accumulating 37 total yards on a 44% snap share. It was the veteran Devin Singletary who assumed the lead back role in a surprising twist. Now, Singletary didn’t do much with his opportunities either, but he out-touched Tracy 10-8 and played 56% of offensive snaps.

This leaves managers with no answers on how to proceed with Tracy for the remainder of the season, but the clear short-term decision is to bench the 25-year-old this week. The Bears are fresh off a ridiculous 47-42 win over Cleveland, and if they put up points like that again, Tracy will be forced out of the game script early.

Start ‘Em: Kyle Monangai (Chicago Bears) vs. New York Giants

Unsurprisingly, Kyle Monangai’s breakout performance has led to a lot of screaming hot takes on social media. I couldn’t count the amount of people declaring him Chicago’s RB1 moving forward if I had a dozen hands.

To be fair, it’s hard not to be impressed by Monangai’s 26-carry, 176-yard outing in which he also racked up three catches for 22 yards against Cincinnati. The rookie showcased elite burst throughout the entire game.

All of that said, let’s not forget just how great D’Andre Swift has been this season. Still only 26 years old, Swift is averaging 4.6 yards per carry on strong volume.

So, those expecting Monangai to simply take over as the undisputed top back in Chicago will be disappointed. However, the Rutgers product has certainly earned a significant uptick in touches. He checks in as a solid RB2 against a Giants defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to running backs.

Sit ‘Em: Jacory Croskey-Merritt (Washington Commanders) vs. Detroit Lions

It’s all going downhill for Bill.

After flashing massive potential on occasion early in the season, Croskey-Merritt has failed to record more than six fantasy points in four straight outings. His start percentage was still shockingly high across most leagues last week despite those numbers, which is indicative of his ceiling.

Unfortunately, it’s finally time to bench the rookie in all fantasy formats until he proves his value consistently. With Jayden Daniels likely done for the season, Washington will likely be forced to abandon the run consistently due to game script moving forward. Bill also simply hasn’t been efficient enough to justify giving him a large workload.

This week, a matchup with the Lions looms. With Marcus Mariota under center, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Croskey-Merritt sees a ton of touches and produces at a decent rate.
