Update: Moore did come back into the game as the Bears were in a goal-to-go spot, so it does seem like he’s healthy enough to at least come in for crucial downs. I wouldn’t expect him to be a regular on Chicago’s offensive drives with his ankle issue but he’s good enough to at least be a situational player.
Update: Moore is officially questionable to return with an ankle injury. He was not in on the next offensive possession for Chicago after suffering the injury. He’s got a massive wrap on his ankle, and doesn’t have his helmet on. The Bears might say he’s questionable but it’s safe to say he’s likely done for the day.
DJ Moore is QUESTIONABLE to return with an ankle injury— Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) December 24, 2023
Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore appeared to suffer an ankle injury on the opening drive of the team’s Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Moore suffered the injury on a tackle, and was able to jog off the field. He did go straight to the medical tent.
Moore has been on fire lately for the Bears, cementing his place as the team’s top receiver. He came to the Bears are part of the big haul for the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s NFL draft, and appears to be set to lead the receiver group in Chicago for years to come.
Tyler Scott came in for Moore for the rest of the drive, and he’ll likely take over for Moore should the receiver be unable to come back for this contest. The Bears do have slim playoff hopes but might be cautious with their best receiver. Darnell Mooney would also see more targets with Moore out, as would Cole Kmet.
