NFL DFS Stacks: Best DraftKings QB-WR Combinations for Week 7

By: Stan Son

After Week 6:

Matthew Stafford leads the league in passing yards (1,794) and has attempted the most passes (249). Caleb Williams leads the NFL in completion percentage (72.5%), while Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence and Kirk Cousins have thrown the most touchdowns (14). Justin Herbert has thrown the most interceptions (8), while Deshaun Watson has taken the most sacks (24). C.J. Stroud and Josh Allen have completed the most passes over 20 yards (25), while Jordan Love leads the league in passes over 40 yards (8). Finally, Drew Lock and Purdy have the longest completion at 82 yards.

Here are my favorite QB/WR stacks for Week 7.

5. Bryce Young ($5,900) & Jalen Coker ($6,100), Panthers vs. Buccaneers

Coming out of the bye, Young threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns against a tough Eagles defense. He’s attempted at least 36 passes in every contest and thrown 11 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Coker and Tetairoa McMillan are deadly weapons on the outside. I choose Coker for the stack because he’s $1,000 cheaper and is a better route runner/separator. That said, McMillan is a beast in the red zone.

Tampa Bay is very good at defending opposing rushing attacks, allowing only 3.4 yards per carry and 75.5 yards per game. The pass defense isn’t bad, allowing a passer rating of 87.5 while racking up six interceptions. The unit has allowed nine passing touchdowns, though, and a 66.5 completion percentage. The path of least resistance is through the air against the Buccaneers defense, and Young will likely smile from ear to ear.

4. Jared Goff ($6,800) & Amon-Ra St. Brown ($7,800), Lions vs. Packers

This game has the highest total on the slate at 53.5. Goff is completing 67% of his passes and has thrown 12 touchdowns without an interception. He’s averaging 297 yards per game and this game is in the friendly confines of Ford Field. St. Brown leads the team with 57 targets, garnering double-digit looks in four of five contests. He’s scored double-digit FPTS in every game with two over 20 FPTS and a high of 38.2 FPTS.

Green Bay has racked up 15 sacks and is middle-of-the-pack in pressure rate, but the Lions boast the best offensive line per PFF. The pass defense has allowed a 73.9 passer rating and racked up nine interceptions but facing Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent taint the numbers a bit. That said, Dak Prescott did struggle against the Packers last week, but this Lions passing attack is a different animal. ROAR!

3. Brock Purdy ($6,600) & George Kittle ($5,700), 49ers at Falcons

I know, I know. I’m cheating here since Kittle isn’t technically a wide receiver. Sue me. Wait, please don’t sue me. I don’t have enough to pay the lawyers. Kittle will now be the number one option in the passing attack for the 49ers with the injury to Mike Evans. And Atlanta has been generous to tight ends this season, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points to the position. Purdy is completing 69.6% of his passes and leads the league with 14 touchdowns and an 83 QBR.

Atlanta is very stout defending the run, allowing 3.6 yards per carry and 83.2 yards per game. This game has the third-highest total on the weekend, so points will likely be scored, and many will likely be via the passing attacks. Atlanta has allowed 10 passing touchdowns and a 95.1 passer rating while only intercepting one pass.

2. CJ Stroud ($5,700) & Nico Collins ($7,200), Texans vs. Giants

Houston has the 29th-ranked offensive line per PFF, which has helped produce one of the least effective rushing attacks. That’s been good for Stroud, who’s attempted 34 passes in each of the last two outings. Last week, Stroud was in a shootout and finished with 312 yards, three touchdowns and his lone interception on the season. In Week 5, the Texans dominated throughout, yet Stroud still threw 34 times and racked up 261 yards and a touchdown, good for 20.9 FPTS. There’s a good chance the latter game script repeats, as the Texans are a slate-high 10.5 point favorites. A ceiling game is possible, though, if JJ McCarthy can do things. HAHAHAAHAH. Sorry, I got jokes today. Houston has one of the best defenses in the league, but McCarthy did throw for 243 yards and a touchdown in a quarter last week. Just saying.

The main reason I put this stack up so high is the matchup. New York has the second-lowest pressure rate despite blitzing at the second-highest rate. The eight sacks are tied for the second-fewest. The unit has intercepted six passes but allowed 12 touchdowns. Collins has put up double-digit FPTS in all four games he’s played, but only 10.9 and 10.6 in the last two weeks. He has 30-FPTS upside, and there should be opportunities in this one for a ceiling game.

1. Jordan Love ($6,000) & Matthew Golden ($6,000), Packers at Lions

I initially had concerns putting Love so high. Detroit leads the NFL with 20 sacks and is ninth in pressure rate. Green Bay has the 31st-ranked offensive line per PFF. But, but, but….When the Lions can’t get home with pressure, the secondary has been sliced and diced like a Benihana chef. The -76.69 expected points are the third-worst and the unit has allowed a 68.1 completion percentage, 14 passing touchdowns and a passer rating of 106.3. Brian Branch, a safety, may return for this one but his impact will likely be minimal since he still has to ramp back up.

Love has thrown two touchdowns in every game but one and put up 21.2 and 28.3 FPTS in the last two contests. Golden leads the Packers with 57 targets and garnered 13 last week, with three in the red zone. That’s now back-to-back weeks with three red zone opportunities. The return of Josh Jacobs could take away some scoring chances, but the overall net effect should be positive since he will keep the defense honest.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
