Monday update: Thanks Seattle.

Monday update: Drew Lock is getting the work with the first team QBs in pregame warmups. Geno Smith is active, but it’s starting to look like Lock will get the start.

Monday update - Geno Smith is active and will play against the Eagles on “MNF,” according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

The Seattle Seahawks will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15’s edition of Monday Night Football. The Seahawks have lost four games in a row, and their chance at a playoff spot is slipping away. Seattle most recently lost 28-16 to the San Francisco 49ers but did so without quarterback Geno Smith. He missed the game with a groin injury and is questionable for Monday night’s game.

Fantasy football analysis

Smith heads into this week as the overall QB18 in fantasy football. He has played in 12 games and has thrown for 2,918 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. While he likely wasn’t going to start for you this week, he did have a good matchup, as Philadelphia allows the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Smith being sidelined wouldn’t just affect his outlook. After being down early to San Francisco, the Seahawks running back duo of Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet only combined for 65 yards on 17 carries. The Eagles’ defense is stingy against the run, allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing RBs.

They didn’t have Smith, but DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett didn’t seem to mind. Metcalf finished with 52 yards on two receptions and scored his fourth touchdown in the last two weeks. Lockett led with team with six targets and brought all of them in for 89 yards. They have a great matchup this week against a Philly defense that allows the most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

NFL DFS analysis

If Smith suits up, he will cost $14,100 to roster as your Showdown captain at DraftKings DFS. He gets a little reprieve as a flex play, dropping down to $9,400. If Smith plays, he has a fantastic matchup, as the Philly defense allows the most DFS points to opposing quarterbacks. Currently, Lock is $13,800 as a captain and $9,200 as a flex play.
