Repeating as NBA champions is extremely difficult, and no team has done it since the 2016-18 Golden State Warriors. In fact, each of the last six titles were won by a different team, much less consecutively, and the last defending champion to even reach the conference finals was the 2018-19 Warriors. With that word of […]

The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t made the Eastern Conference Finals since LeBron James wore the wine and gold. But after years of toiling in mediocrity, Cleveland is back. After a 64-18 regular season that was arguably even more dominant than the record suggests, the Cavaliers should expect nothing short of a title. For Cleveland, the time […]

The final three playoff series will all play Game 2’s tonight, and we’ll get to see if the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and Houston Rockets can make the necessary adjustment to get back in the series. Orlando has a particularly good opportunity, given that Jayson Tatum ($9,600) is unlikely to play after sustaining a bone […]

Football is a game of attrition, a battle won and lost in the trenches. No quarterback can perform without an offensive line to protect him, and a high-powered pass rush can force opponents into debilitating mistakes. The Philadelphia Eagles proved as much with their Super Bowl victory; their championship run was powered, as much as […]

During the opening weekend of the 2025 NBA playoffs, there weren’t really any major surprises. In fact, every single higher-seeded team won their opening game…except for one. The team that lost was probably the most high-profile team in the league, although not the most dominant — the Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles shot just 39.8% […]

After two pretty fantastic games in the two series that have been competitive so far last night, the first round of the NBA playoffs continues tonight with three more contests. The Los Angeles Lakers — who were the only home team to lose Game 1 — seek to bounce back, while the Indiana Pacers and […]

I went out and bought myself sunglasses this morning because after a long, cold winter, it’s starting to turn towards summer. And in the United States, summer means one thing: baseball. For DFS players, the beauty of the MLB’s 162-game season is that nearly every team suits up nearly every day, so there are lots […]

Of the eight teams in the Eastern Conference playoffs, seven were part of the bracket last season. The other team — the Detroit Pistons — had not been since the 2018-19 season, and they’ve had the worst record in the NBA over the last five seasons, even after posting a 44-38 record this season. Detroit […]

With nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s Game 1 win over the Detroit Pistons, the New York Knicks trailed 98-90. Cameron Payne hit a layup to cut the deficit to six, and Tom Thibodeau put Jalen Brunson into the game. The southpaw hit a floater to cut the deficit to three. […]

For a while, the first-round series between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons seemed like an upset, as some third-quarter apathy on the home side’s part threatened to allow the Pistons to steal back home-court advantage. But a 21-0 fourth-quarter run by New York thwarted that, and the thousands of fans both inside and […]

All eight series in the NBA playoffs tipped off last weekend with Game 1. Of the eight games, seven were relatively non-competitive. The only exception came high in the Rocky Mountains, where five extra minutes were needed to decide a thriller between the Denver Nuggets and the LA Clippers. Ultimately, the home side notched a […]
