Three months after acquiring Luka Dončić in arguably the most shocking trade in NBA history, the Los Angeles Lakers’ season is on the brink. Game 1 aside, the games have been fairly competitive. But it doesn’t matter; after back-to-back losses on the road to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles has its back against the wall, […]

When the Los Angeles Lakers traded for Luka Dončić on February 1, the expectation was that the trade lowered the Lakers’ ceiling in the short-term and raised it for the next decade, a modest expectation that grew stronger when Los Angeles rescinded its deal for Charlotte Hornets starting center Mark Williams. Then Dončić and LeBron […]

Four of the eight first-round playoff series are now over, after the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics joined the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round and the New York Knicks fell just short of doing so. Two more teams will have a chance to close their series tonight: the Golden […]

Talk about nail-biting and talk about controversial. The ball might’ve still been on Aaron Gordon’s fingertips as it passed through the rim when time expired on Saturday’s Game 4. Even on slow-motion replay, it was too close to call, and who knows if it would have been called a basket if it hadn’t been ruled […]

I don’t think that enough baseball fans have been talking about the Colorado Rockies, who are now 4-24 in this early stage of the season and have lost seven straight games. If that putrid form continues, Colorado will finish with a record of 23-139, the worst record in baseball history by 17 games. At some […]

With a 117-115 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, the West’s No. 1 seed, the Oklahoma City Thunder, secured a 4-0 sweep in the first round of the playoffs. Tonight, their Eastern counterpart, the Cleveland Cavaliers, will seek to join them and dispatch the Miami Heat. Cleveland made light work of the regular season, […]

The second round of the Western Conference playoffs could begin as early as Friday, as both the 2-7 and 3-6 matchups in the conference are lopsided, with potential series-deciding Game 5’s on the docket for Wednesday night and Game 6’s scheduled for Friday. The sixth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves are up 3-1 on the third-seeded Los Angeles […]

After suffering a lopsided 117-98 defeat at the hands of the Indiana Pacers in Game 1, the Milwaukee Bucks surely hoped that Damian Lillard’s return would change fortunes in Game 2. It didn’t; Indiana came away with a 123-115 victory that wasn’t as close as the final score makes it seem, taking a 2-0 lead […]
