After a day off yesterday, the WNBA is back in full force, with 10 of the league’s 13 teams in action tonight as part of a five-game slate. The night will tip off with Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings facing Sabrina Ionescu and the defending champion New York Liberty and end with a trio of 10 […]

The Seattle Mariners, three games behind the Houston Astros at 60-53 for first in the AL West and 1.5 games ahead of the Texas Rangers for the third and final Wild card spot, were one of the league’s most all-in teams at the trade deadline, dealing for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ corner infield duo of Josh […]

With most teams having played between 112 and 114 games, the MLB season is more than two-thirds of the way to completion. 50 games into the season, it was too early to judge any trend as real. There’s that little left until only the strongest 12 teams will remain, so every trend has to be […]

There might be three playoff basketball teams in Los Angeles in 2025: after the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers both earned top-six seeds in the 2024-25 NBA season, a recent charge has put the Los Angeles Sparks within striking distance of the WNBA playoffs. Entering tonight’s matchup against the Indiana Fever, they’re 12-15 and […]

It’s been a long time since things have looked this good in the North. Three games into August, the Toronto Blue Jays sit atop the AL East, tied for the Junior Circuit’s best record and three games ahead of the Boston Red Sox in the division. They’ll enter a series against the league’s worst team, […]

The upside of having just a three-game slate during last Thursday’s MLB trade deadline means that the Monday slate — the other possible off day — is fairly large, with three-fifths of the league in action as part of tonight’s DFS contest on DraftKings. That means my pitcher rankings will be back to a normal […]

At long last, the Los Angeles Dodgers are back on friendly turf for six games after a nine-game road trip in which they went 5-4. The reigning World Series champions are clinging to a three-game lead in the NL West headed into series with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Toronto Blue Jays. For tonight’s […]

The Arizona Diamondbacks look fundamentally different now than they did prior to yesterday’s trade deadline. First baseman Josh Naylor is gone, now with the Seattle Mariners. Eugenio Suárez, who has 36 homers and an NL-leading 87 RBI’s, is in Seattle too, and Merrill Kelly is a Texas Ranger. The same can be said of their […]

With 18 games remaining in their first WNBA season, the Golden State Valkyries are still in position to make the postseason, half a game ahead of the Washington Mystics for the eighth seed at 13-13. They’ve achieved this despite being without All-Star Kayla Thornton since the All-Star break. After beating the Mystics last night, Golden […]

Headed into yesterday’s MLB trade deadline, it looked likely that the Chicago White Sox would be sellers, with outfielder Luis Robert Jr. figuring to be one of the deadline’s most coveted names. But Chicago merely traded veteran starter Adrian Houser, keeping the core of the much-improved team largely intact. One member of that core, rookie […]
