The Oregon State Beavers are hosting the Texas State Bobcats in an electric Pac-12 matchup in Week 10. The game kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Corvallis, Oregon.
The Beavers are listed as 6.5-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at O/U 71.5 points. Below is my full preview, prediction and best bet for this Week 10 matchup.
Oregon State vs. Texas State Prediction, Preview
Texas State Preview
Texas State has developed a clear identity under G.J. Kinne. He is one of the brightest young offensive minds in the country. The Bobcats rank seventh in the nation in yards per game and are averaging 38.1 points per game. However, they are dreadful on the defensive side of the ball. They rank 125th nationally in defensive EPA/dropback and are allowing 32 points per game. Quarterback Brad Jackson is one of the best non-power conference quarterbacks in the country and can keep his team in any game. Most recently, Jackson was responsible for five total touchdowns against a ranked Boise State team in a game Texas State lost by one point on the road. One thing that is for sure is the Bobcats will give viewers an entertaining game every week.
Oregon State Preview
Oregon State is in a similar boat to Texas State this season. The Beavers rank 10th in the nation in offensive success rate, fourth in the nation in yards per game, and are averaging 40.1 points per game. They have definitely been better defensively than Texas State has been, but still rank 83rd nationally in adj. Defensive EPA/play. Jesse Legree has been arguably the best wide receiver in the country not named Malachi Toney or Jeremiah Smith this season. He leads the nation with 1,100 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns in 2026. With Toney out for the rest of the season and Jeremiah Smith playing with a backup quarterback, Legree could end up with the Biletnikoff at the end of the season.
Oregon State vs. Texas State Pick, Best Bet
My best bet is on Oregon State and Texas State to go over the total of 71.5 points. This is a remarkably high total, but it might not be high enough. Just in terms of points per game, these teams are averaging a combined 78.2 PPG. Texas State is one of the fastest-paced teams in the nation, ranking ninth in seconds per play. Meanwhile, Oregon State leads the nation in passing attempts per game. Both teams also rank inside the top 15 in yards per play. These are two of the most explosive offenses in the country, and neither defense is very capable of getting stops.
Texas State is coming off a 46-45 game against Boise State, and they scored more than 50 points twice this season. Oregon State has scored 50+ points three times this season and defeated Washington State 48-30 in its most recent home game. While this total is incredibly high, this is just the type of game that both of these teams typically play. This should be an incredible shootout with both teams getting into the 40s and sailing over this total.
