Prediction, pick for Waldo Cortes Acosta vs. Johnny Walker at UFC Vegas 124

Tonight’s UFC Fight Night is headlined by a five-round Heavyweight contest between No. 6 Waldo Cortes Acosta and Johnny Walker. Cortes Acosta is looking to snap a two-fight losing streak while Walker is coming off a successful Heavyweight debut. The Main Card begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on Paramount+ at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Check out my best bet below for Waldo Cortes Acosta vs. Johnny Walker at tonight’s UFC Fight Night.

Johnny Walker Moneyline (+190)

Walker moved up to Heavyweight at UFC 332 on October 3 and scored a first-round knockout over Mick Parkin. Overall, Walker is 23-10 with 21 finishes and is 2-1 in his previous three contests. Cortes Acosta has suffered back-to-back losses to Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov. In January at UFC 324, Cortes Acosta beat Derrick Lewis in his last win. Although Cortes Acosta is on a skid, he went 8-1 from August 2023 to January 2026.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Cortes Acosta is a -230 favorite, while Walker is a +190 underdog. The over/under is 1.5 rounds, with the over at -195 and the under at +150. This contest is also +450 not to go the distance and +300 to end by decision. In this fight, Walker has a four-inch reach advantage (82″ vs. 78″) over Cortes Acosta while being two inches taller (6’6″ vs. 6’4″).

Both fighters are primarily strikers, with Cortes Acosta averaging more significant strikes per minute (5.03 vs. 3.98). With that said, Walker has the edge in striking accuracy (55% vs. 47%) and absorbed fewer strikes per minute (2.99 vs. 3.44). Since this is a Heavyweight bout, both fighters likely won’t weigh the same. Cortes Acosta weighed 262 pounds in his last fight, while Walker was 242 pounds in his Heavyweight debut. Although Walker must be aware of Cortes Acosta’s power, I believe he can use his quickness to gain an advantage. If Walker moves around the Octagon often and doesn’t let Cortes Acosta get into his rhythm, he should be able to succeed.
