Week 7 concludes with an NFC East battle between underachieving teams on Monday Night Football. The Dallas Cowboys have just two wins, but in a weak division, every single one counts. Dak Prescott knows that, and tonight he takes on the Philadelphia Eagles with hopes of adding another tally to the win column.
Here are the best Dak Prescott prop bets for Cowboys vs. Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 7.
Best Dak Prescott prop bet for Cowboys vs. Eagles
Last season, the Cowboys’ offense was one of the NFL’s best. A high-octane passing attack was necessary in order to make up for a historically-bad defense, frankly. Despite undergoing very little change this offseason in terms of personnel or coaching, this group hasn’t replicated that same offensive success.
When it comes to passing yards, Dak Prescott has looked quite good on the surface. He’s thrown for 1,639 yards with a 66.3% completion rate, good for an average of 273.2 per game. He also has a 75.5 QBR that would be good for the second-best mark of his career if it stands for the full season. However, he has a 10-5 TD-INT ratio and hasn’t thrown multiple touchdowns in a game since Week 2, when he tossed four in a win over the Commanders. Now, he’s coming off back-to-back weeks with multiple interceptions, which has ultimately been the difference where Dallas’ 2-4 record is concerned.
Still, we know that Prescott can play like one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks in any given week. He’s a talented passer and now gets a date against an underachieving Philadelphia defense, but does that set the stage for a bounce-back performance on Monday Night Football?
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Prescott’s player prop bet lines are set at O/U 269.5 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns. He also holds +600 odds for an anytime touchdown with an O/U of 11.5 rushing yards. The Cowboys are a 4.5-point favorite on the road with the total set at 44.5 combined points.
The Eagles’ defense used to be quite formidable, but no longer. This season, they’re actually one of the league’s worst when it comes to efficiency. They’ve allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for 253.8 YPG, eighth most of any team, though they’ve only given up 1.3 passing touchdowns per contest with eight in total conceded. They also rank 28th in EPA/dropback allowed. Plus, Philadelphia falls 28th in pressure rate and 30th in time to pressure. With Nolan Smith out and the duo of Jalyx Hunt and Jonathan Greenard questionable due to injury, this front seven could be very depleted depending on how those statuses are settled.
With that in mind, Prescott could be primed for a nice outing tonight. He put forth two very different outings against the Eagles last season – he threw for 188 yards without a touchdown or a pick last September but followed it up with 354 yards, two tuddies and one interception in November – but now gets to face a far worse defense than he saw last time.
In Week 7, I do like the over on 269.5 passing yards. Prescott has eclipsed that mark in four of his six appearances so far and his average passing output is just marginally higher than the prop line. With several key pass-rushers potentially sidelined, he should have plenty of time to stand and deliver in the pocket. Philadelphia also hasn’t been particularly effective against the pass, and for what it’s worth, the Cowboys are still first in PROE, meaning they should continue to air it out even in neutral situations. Overall, that shapes up nicely for Prescott to bounce back.
Best Bet: Dak Prescott over 269.5 passing yards (-112)
