Week 7 concludes with an NFC East battle between underachieving teams on Monday Night Football. The Dallas Cowboys have just two wins under their belts, but against an undermanned Philadelphia Eagles unit, there’s a good chance they can tack on another one. And if this offense is to get back on the right foot, there’s no doubt that CeeDee Lamb is as good a candidate as any to be at the center of the production.
Here are the best CeeDee Lamb prop bets for Cowboys vs. Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 7.
Best CeeDee Lamb prop bet for Cowboys vs. Eagles
The Cowboys’ offense has hardly looked like the unit we saw last season. While they’re ninth in scoring with 25.2 PPG, their passing attack hasn’t been nearly as overwhelming as it was last year when it seemed the ball was landing in the hands of a Dallas pass-catcher on just about every snap. Still, this group does currently rank first in PROE and comes in at sixth in passing yards per game with 267.2. Who’s been the main option? That would be none other than CeeDee Lamb.
Last year, a high-ankle sprain shortened the star wideout’s season, and he didn’t quite look like his typical self even when he returned. George Pickens seemingly took over as the top receiver in the Cowboys’ offense, but that may have come more as a result of Lamb’s injury than an indictment on either’s talent level. This season, Lamb has retaken the top spot with an iron grip. Through six games, he’s racked up 577 receiving yards with four touchdowns on 48 receptions, seeing 69 targets overall. He’s been truly elite no matter how you slice it – his 2.68 YPRR ranks eighth among all NFL receivers and he’s averaging 96.2 receiving yards per game, fourth most. Consider that he left one matchup early due to injury, and his stats only appear more impressive.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Lamb’s player prop bet lines are set at O/U 6.5 receptions and 82.5 receiving yards with +125 odds to score an anytime touchdown. The Cowboys are also a 4.5-point favorite on the road with the total set at 44.5 combined points.
The Eagles’ defense isn’t quite the imposing matchup it used to be. They’ve only given up 1.3 passing touchdowns per contest with eight in total conceded, but they also rank 28th in EPA/dropback allowed. The secondary has allowed 182.7 YPG to wide receivers, fourth most of any team, also allowing the fifth-most targets (20.7) and eighth-most receptions (13.2) to the position. Plus, Philadelphia falls 28th in pressure rate and 30th in time to pressure, which may further decline with Nolan Smith out and the duo of Jalyx Hunt and Jonathan Greenard questionable due to injury.
I took Dak Prescott to record over 269.5 passing yards in a companion piece to this one, and frankly, I feel very comfortable taking Lamb to benefit from that, too. Last season, he posted a line of seven grabs for 110 yards on 13 targets against Philadelphia, then caught four passes for 75 yards on 11 targets in the second matchup between these teams. He didn’t seem too bothered by the defense then, and on Monday Night Football, his quarterback should have time to throw thanks to a potentially-depleted front seven. The Eagles are allowing wide receivers to put up numbers on a per-game basis this year, which further boosts the outlook for Lamb.
Dallas currently leads the NFL in PROE and shouldn’t be afraid to air the ball out, even in neutral situations. Lamb is clearly the top target in this offense with a 27.6% target share and is seeing over 11 looks per game while playing some of his best football. Between the outlook against the defense and his own track record, he should have no problem hauling in over 6.5 passes tonight after doing so four times in six games so far. The Cowboys should funnel the ball his way plenty.
Best Bet: CeeDee Lamb over 6.5 receptions (-139)
