Has a Monday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles ever had less juice?
There’s a good chance, honestly. These two teams play a lot in primetime, but with that said, this Week 7 edition of the rivalry is seriously lacking buzz. Both teams are 2-4 and are seemingly in the midst of very underwhelming campaigns. The Eagles can not score due to a number of key injuries, while the Cowboys’ defense has been an embarrassment for the state of Texas all season long.
Getting off to a good start in this contest would be godsend for either franchise, so let’s break down the first touchdown scorer odds on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Let’s make a couple picks, too. Why not?
Cowboys vs. Eagles First Touchdown Scorer Odds

Cowboys vs. Eagles First Touchdown Scorer Picks
CeeDee Lamb First TD Scorer (+700)
While Lamb’s sort of gone under-the-radar since his 17-reception performance against the Texans, let me assure you that the wideout is still among the most-talented in the sport. He also had 18 targets last week against the Packers, so it’s not like he’s lacking opportunity. Heck, Lamb’s been targeted on 32.4% of his routes for the season as a whole — the fifth-highest mark among wide receivers with at least 100 routes run. That means efficiency and volume, because with the Cowboys operating at the league’s highest pass ratio (67.5%), Lamb’s 213 routes are easily among the most in the NFL. I like the veteran’s odds of finding the end zone early in this one, especially considering how most teams have attacked the Eagles’ defense through six weeks. Opposing WR corps are averaging 21.8 targets per contest against Philly. That’s the third-highest mark in the NFL.
Dameon Pierce First TD Scorer (+2200)
All signs point to Saquon Barkley (+550) returning for this tilt, but I’m not sure these odds properly reflect what the former All-Pro’s role is going to be on Monday evening. Barkley hasn’t played a full-game since Week 3 and he wasn’t able to practice in full until Saturday. If you believe Barkley is going to be looking at an 80% snap share against Dallas, I think you’re sadly mistaken. Pierce, who just happened to register a 95.3% snap rate in Week 6, is going to be involved, and that could mean vulturing a couple goal line carries in the first half. This is a great matchup for both backs, too. The Cowboys have been unable to stop the run all season long, surrendering 149.8 opponent rushing yards per game — the second-most of any team in the NFL.
