Chelsea are starting to pick up some form since the end of the international break with two impressive performances against Bournemouth and Everton. They took down the Cherries 5-1 before beating the Toffees 2-0 in Liverpool. They are now up to fourth in the table and will have their eyes set on Champions League qualification this season.
Tottenham on the other hand, just got their first win of the season. They beat Coventry 3-1 at home to move themselves up to 16th in the table. Coventry at home is arguably one of the easiest fixtures of the season for any big six team, so I’m not going to put too much stock into that win.
Chelsea are the better team here and will be playing at home. The Blues have won their last two games with a combined score of 7-1 and now face a team facing relegation in a London derby. It’s fair to say that the recent fixtures between these teams have been one-sided. Chelsea have won six straight Premier League games against Spurs, outscoring them by a total of 14-5 over the last three seasons.
Neither of these teams play in Europe this season, so they will both be fresh and ready to go for this London derby. I think the Blues will win their third straight game and send Tottenham back into the heart of the relegation race.
