2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball is on the way, bringing back one of Topps’ most colorful Chrome releases with a 200-card base set, a loaded rookie class and the return of the popular Planetary Pursuit chase.

There are also several new additions for 2026. Mars Attacks MLB and Cosmic Dust debut in this year’s product, while the autograph checklist includes many of baseball’s biggest current stars and a separate set of ultra-rare cut signatures featuring astronauts, scientists and other historic names tied to space exploration.

Topps has released the full checklist and pack odds ahead of preorders opening Monday, October 5 at 12 p.m. ET. Here’s a breakdown of what collectors can expect from 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball.

2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball checklist

The 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball base set checks in at 200 cards and mixes current stars with one of the stronger rookie groups on the baseball card calendar.

Shohei Ohtani gets card No. 1, while Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Bobby Witt Jr., Mike Trout, Paul Skenes, Ronald Acuña Jr., Bryce Harper, Elly De La Cruz, Mookie Betts and other established stars appear throughout the checklist.

The rookie checklist is one of the biggest attractions. Roman Anthony, Konnor Griffin, Kevin McGonigle, Munetaka Murakami, JJ Wetherholt, Jac Caglianone, Samuel Basallo, Chase Burns, Bubba Chandler, Bryce Eldridge, Nolan McLean, Cam Schlittler, Trey Yesavage and others have rookie cards in the 200-card base set.

2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball parallels

Cosmic Chrome’s space-themed refractors remain a major part of the product. Topps’ official odds sheet lists the following base-card parallels:

  • Refractor
  • Nucleus Refractor
  • White Hole Refractor
  • Magenta Cosmos Refractor
  • Aqua Equinox Refractor
  • Purple Nebula Refractor
  • Blue Moon Refractor
  • Green Space Dust Refractor
  • Gold Interstellar Refractor
  • Orange Galactic Refractor
  • Black Eclipse Refractor
  • Lunar Eclipse Refractor
  • Red Flare Refractor
  • SuperFractor

The regular Refractor lands once every 10 packs in both Hobby and Lunar, while Nucleus falls once every 20 packs and White Hole once every 40. The odds become significantly longer at the top of the rainbow, including Red Flare at roughly 1:1,500 packs and the SuperFractor at approximately 1:7,500.

Lunar Eclipse is exclusive to Lunar packs and lands at 1:2 packs, making it the defining base parallel for that format.

Mars Attacks MLB debuts in 2026 Cosmic Chrome

One of the most interesting additions to this year’s product is Mars Attacks MLB, a new 10-card insert that combines Cosmic Chrome’s space theme with the classic Mars Attacks property.

The checklist is small but loaded. Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuña Jr., Paul Skenes and Pete Crow-Armstrong are joined by rookies Roman Anthony, Jac Caglianone, Konnor Griffin, JJ Wetherholt and Kevin McGonigle.

It won’t be an easy set to pull. Topps lists Mars Attacks MLB at 1:1,513 Hobby packs and 1:1,517 Lunar packs.

Cosmic Dust is another new chase

Cosmic Dust also makes its debut in the 2026 product. The 25-card checklist features many of the biggest names in the release, including Ohtani, Judge, Witt, Juan Soto, Trout, Skenes and Elly De La Cruz.

The rookie class is well represented as well, with Anthony, Caglianone, Griffin, Murakami, Wetherholt and McGonigle among the names included. Cosmic Dust falls at approximately 1:606 packs in both Hobby and Lunar.

Planetary Pursuit returns as one of the biggest chases

Planetary Pursuit returns as one of the defining features of Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball. Rather than every card carrying the same rarity, the chase becomes increasingly difficult as collectors work their way farther through the solar system.

PlanetPack Odds
Sun1:120
Mercury1:480
Venus1:720
Earth1:1,200
Mars1:1,680
Jupiter1:4,800
Saturn1:7,500
Uranus1:12,000
Neptune1:20,000
Pluto1:28,000

The odds are identical in Hobby and Lunar packs. The Sun is the most attainable Planetary Pursuit card at 1:120 packs, while Pluto sits at the other end of the chase at just 1:28,000 packs.

Other 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball inserts

The insert checklist extends well beyond Mars Attacks MLB, Cosmic Dust and Planetary Pursuit. Other sets include Stellar Stars, Forces of the Diamond, Extraterrestrial Talent, Launched Into Orbit, Dual Star Clusters, Triple Star Clusters, Stars in the Night, Stella Nova, Planetarium, StarFractor and Supernova.

Dual and Triple Star Clusters provide some of the more interesting combinations. Shohei Ohtani appears alongside Yoshinobu Yamamoto on a Dual Star Clusters card, while Aaron Judge is paired with Mickey Mantle. The Triple Star Clusters checklist includes Judge, Derek Jeter and Lou Gehrig together, along with a Dodgers combination of Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

Supernova is also worth watching depending on which format you’re opening. Topps lists it at 1:1,214 Hobby packs but just 1:77 Lunar packs, one of the biggest differences between the two formats on the official odds sheet.

2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball autographs

The autograph checklist is spread across Cosmic Chrome Autograph Variations, Extraterrestrial Talent Autograph Variations, Launched Into Orbit Autograph Variations, Stellar Stars Autograph Variations and Star Clusters Dual Autographs.

The main Cosmic Chrome Autograph Variation falls at 1:136 Hobby packs, with increasingly difficult Green Space Dust, Gold Interstellar, Orange Galactic, Black Eclipse, Red Flare and SuperFractor versions also available.

The autograph checklist includes many of the biggest names in the product, including Ohtani, Judge, Trout, Soto, Skenes and several members of the 2026 rookie class.

Star Clusters Dual Autographs are among the tougher signed cards in the release at 1:15,535 Hobby packs. The checklist includes some major pairings, including Shohei Ohtani with Ichiro, Aaron Judge with Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter with Mariano Rivera, Mike Trout with Albert Pujols and Bobby Witt Jr. with Jac Caglianone.

Cosmic Explorers Cut Signatures are one of the wildest chases

The most unusual autograph chase in 2026 Cosmic Chrome Baseball doesn’t feature baseball players at all.

Cosmic Explorers Cut Signatures features 17 historic astronauts, scientists and figures connected to space and scientific discovery. The checklist includes Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Sally Ride, John Glenn, Carl Sagan, Edwin Hubble, Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton and others.

They’re also extraordinarily difficult pulls. Topps lists Cosmic Explorers Cut Signatures at 1:85,901 Hobby packs, making them some of the rarest cards in the entire release.

Hobby vs. Lunar: What’s different?

Topps’ odds sheet lists separate Hobby and Lunar formats, and the two aren’t identical.

Lunar packs feature the exclusive Lunar Eclipse Refractor at 1:2 packs. Lunar versions of several insert parallels are also considerably easier to hit than their Hobby counterparts, with Supernova standing out at 1:77 Lunar packs compared to 1:1,214 in Hobby.

The autograph structure is also different. The standard Cosmic Chrome Autograph Variation is listed only under Hobby at 1:136 packs, while Lunar has a Lunar Eclipse version at 1:37 packs. Extraterrestrial Talent follows a similar format, with the standard autograph listed under Hobby and the Lunar Eclipse autograph appearing in Lunar.

Topps has not yet published the complete 2026 box configuration, so we’ll wait for official details before projecting the number of parallels, inserts or autographs collectors should expect from an individual box.
