Tyler Warren Receiving Yards Pick for Colts vs. Chiefs

Tyler Warren and the Indianapolis Colts will close out the Week 2 Sunday slate in a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Indianapolis dropped their opening matchup 41-23 to the Baltimore Ravens and will be hoping to get in the win column against a Chiefs team that impressed in their season opener.

Looking at the odds, the Chiefs enter as six-point home favorites with -265 moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Colts are +215 to pull off the upset, with the game total set at 46.5 points.

There are plenty of ways to get involved across DraftKings Sportsbook. You can check out the game preview and plenty more on DraftKings Network. But here’s my top Tyler Warren prop bet for the Week 2 Sunday Night Football matchup.

Tyler Warren Best Receiving Yards Pick vs. Lions

Tyler Warren Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-109)

The Indianapolis Colts selected Tyler Warren with the 14th overall pick in last year’s draft, and it did not take long for him to make his impact felt at the NFL level. Warren tallied 76 receptions for 817 yards across his rookie season, along with four touchdowns and an additional rushing score. The Colts got off to a strong start to last season, going 8-2 through the first 10 weeks, but the season-ending Achilles tear to Daniel Jones changed the outlook for the year. This also greatly impacted Warren’s production. Through the first 12 weeks while Jones was on the field, Warren averaged 57.0 receiving yards per game and recorded all five of his touchdowns. Across the final five weeks without Jones, the Penn State product averaged just 26.6 receiving yards per game and failed to reach the end zone.

In the opening week loss, Warren was limited to just three receptions for 13 yards, but did find the end zone. He played 93% of the team’s snaps and ran routes on 88% of Jones’ dropbacks. Expect the outlook to be much more favorable this week against the Chiefs.

Kansas City’s defense was a major positive in Week 1, with the Broncos struggling to generate any sort of consistent offense. But Evan Engram led the team with four receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown. Warren is more talented and more important to the Colts’ attack compared to Engram and the Broncos. Shane Steichen is well aware he needs to do a better job of putting the ball in the star tight end’s hands, and the Chiefs’ defensive system plays to this favor.

Warren tallied over 43.5 receiving yards in nine of the first 11 games alongside Jones, before failing to clear this bar in each of the final six games. Expect a clearer effort to get him involved in the flow of attack and return to last year’s production, starting in the early portions of the matchup. Denver had some real success leaning on Engram in this matchup last week, and expect more of the same with this Colts attack.

This is a favorable matchup across the board for the start tight end. For the sake of this article, I am sticking with his receiving prop as my best bet. But I am also backing Warren to record an anytime touchdown at +220 odds, which you can read the breakdown for on DraftKings Network here.
