The Traitors is back with a new season, dubbed The Traitors: New Blood. This will be the first-ever all-civilian season of the U.S. iteration of the show.

There was an amazing two-hour premiere of the new season. Here is a look at who was banished, who was murdered, and, most importantly, who was named the traitors on tonight’s episode!

What Happened on The Traitors: New Blood Episodes 1 and 2?

The contestants arrived at the castle with great anticipation. For all of the civilians, this is life-changing money on the line and there is a great game to be played. Arguably, the most important moment of the entire season is who gets chosen to be a traitor. Being a traitor is a tough job, but statistically it gives you a better chance of winning the big prize at the end, as you control your own fate. Alan Cumming and the producers get to pick who the traitors will be. See below to find out who was selected to be in the opening group of traitors!

The opening challenge saw the contestants searching a shipwreck for $50,000 in prize money. There were also three shields up for grabs, which will protect three players from murder tonight. Victor was the first player to secure a shield. Abby L. also secured a shield for herself. Madeline secured the third and final shield on the ship. The contestants did end up securing all $50,000 from the challenge, a great start to the total prize pool.

After the challenge, the traitors met in the turret for the first time. The two traitors selected by Alan got to choose two traitors that they wanted to join their ranks. The two potential traitors will have to go through a series of tasks to determine if they were up to being a traitor. However, the person not chosen would have to be murdered. The two potential traitors chosen were Katie and Xavier. These two players will battle for the chance to be the third traitor. The two original traitors also picked their first murder victim. Check below to see who that victim was!

The first round table is always hectic. The two potential traitors, Katie and Xavier, are both desperate to survive and get to the turret. Kriste led the round table, incorrectly confident that Madeline admitted to being a traitor. Kriste also said that Victor was working with her, making them both huge targets to be voted for at the first roundtable. Read below to see who was banished at the first roundtable.

The episode ended with Katie and Xavier both hunting for a “death warrant.” The player who successfully extracts the warrant to hand over to the traitors will get to be the third traitor, while the other player will be murdered.

Who Was Named a Traitor on The Traitors: New Blood Premiere?

The first roundtable is full of angst. Most players want to be a traitor, but a few people would rather be on the other side and be a faithful. Ultimately, it is not your choice. Alan Cumming walked around the round table to open the season and selected two traitors. Those players are:

  • Joe, a funeral director from Wantagh, New York
  • Tomica, a pilot from Boston, Massachusetts

Typically, three traitors are chosen, but Alan decided to only pick two traitors. After choosing those traitors, Alan revealed that one more traitor would be chosen at some point in the very near future. Katie and Xavier were picked by Joe and Tomica as the potential third traitor.

Who Was Banished on The Traitors Tonight?

The first player banished at the roundtable was Madeline. Kriste’s accidentally strong case against her pushed the vote in Madeline’s direction. It was, of course, revealed that Madeline is not a traitor.

Who Was Murdered on The Traitors Tonight?

The first player chosen to be murdered by Joe and Tomica was Kim.
