Murder, intrigue, and betrayal are all returning to your television set – with a new twist. The Traitors: New Blood is the latest season of NBC’s hit reality competition series. In the past, host Alan Cumming’s castle featured celebrities attempting to uncover traitors within their midst. This year’s edition has wiped the slate clean with an all-civilian cast. Without any pre-exisiting relationships or established personalities, there’s no telling what to expect.

With so many new names heading to the Scottish Highlands, let’s get to know our cast before Thursday’s season premiere.

Make sure to check out our Traitors rankings ahead of this week’s episode!

Who is the cast of The Traitors: New Blood?

The Traitors: New Blood is the first all-civilian cast on the US version of The Traitors. Let’s share a bit about each member of the cast prior to episode one:

  • Abbey B.
    • Hometown: Mangham, LA
    • Occupation: Nurse
    • Abbey claims to play with “a lot of heart.” Her biggest strategy is to be herself, earning trust with Faithfuls and Traitors alike, no matter which side she’s on. However, she’d prefer to be part of the former group.
  • Abby L.
    • Hometown: Saint Paul, MN
    • Occupation: Astrophysicist
    • A self-described super fan, Abby claims to have a couple of strategies up her sleeve. She’s cited Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones as her in-game role model (let’s hope she hasn’t read the books).
  • Arisa
    • Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
    • Occupation: Dog Groomer
    • Our first would-be traitor, Arisa is banking on her profession as a way to gain allies. A job involving cute, cuddly animals may prevent her fellow cast mates from assuming the worst. In her words, “they wouldn’t suspect someone like me who has golden retriever energy to be a naughty little chihuahua.”
  • Ben
    • Hometown: Granbury, TX
    • Occupation: Barrel Racer
    • Ben is hoping to play both sides: get close with the girls while promoting his 6’3″ height as a challenge asset for the guys. Even though he’s wearing designer shoes, this big Texan isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.
  • Clyde
    • Hometown: Charleston, SC
    • Occupation: Teacher
    • Another Traitor hopeful, Clyde thinks his job teaching theater will pay dividends this season. He knows how to act under pressure and he’s used to talking to people from all walks of life. Despite his villainous side, the Charleston native wants to be as likable and friendly as possible.
  • Jay
    • Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK
    • Occupation: Physician
    • Jay sees himself as a good person that people are naturally drawn to. If he’s going to win this thing, that’ll likely be the reason why. He’s also someone that’s here to play. Unlike a few previous contestants, he’s prioritizing winning above all else.
  • Joe
    • Hometown: Wantagh, NY
    • Occupation: Funeral Director
    • Joe’s strategy is about as straightforward as it gets: be as truthful as possible – until you don’t have to be. The Long Islander will be everyone’s friend…until he doesn’t need them anymore. He’s looking to go with the flow, until the game calls for going in another direction.
  • Katie
    • Hometown: Jacksonville, FL
    • Occupation: Maketing Manager
    • Katie’s first words on her approach to the game? “I’m going to give them hell.” She thinks there’s the potential to make this game more fun and while finding a way to connect with her fellow contestants. Then, if necessary, backstabbing them. She’s an actress as well, which could help when it comes to fooling the rest of the castle.
  • Kim
    • Hometown: Houston, TX
    • Occupation: Lawyer
    • Kim is trying to know everyone before they start targeting people. Her authenticity could be a weapon, drawing people in closer and making them vulnerable down the road. However, Kim’s greatest strength is a self-described adaptability, a must during any season of The Traitors.
  • Kriste
    • Hometown: Hattiesburg, MS
    • Occupation: Realtor
    • Much like Kim, Kriste goes where the wind blows. She calls herself “a lot of fun,” which she’s hoping will get others to share some key secrets. Whether or not Kriste is a traitor or faithful, she’s hoping her natural kindness shines through.
  • Logan
    • Hometown: Gatlinburg, TN
    • Occupation: Realtor
    • Logan considers himself an expert at sniffing out BS; it’s a must for any successful realtor. He knows how to negotiate, improving the position of both himself and his clients. The Gatlinburg native is hoping to do the same this season around the castle.
  • Madeline
    • Hometown: San Diego, CA
    • Occupation: Construction Manager
    • Madeline wants the rest of this cast “distracted.” Where they might see a relaxed, easy-going Californian, a killer is lurking in their midst. When faced with a cutthroat decision, the construction manager shows a surprising lack of remorse. In a game that involves murder and backstabbing, that could be a valuable trait.
  • Mark
    • Hometown: Phillipsburgh, NJ
    • Occupation: Personal Trainer
    • Mark’s strategy is to be a minnow in a school full of sharks. Being the loudest person in the room doesn’t offer much upside; let the big characters get themselves voted out early. Then, work his way into the good graces of a decision maker and keep the target positioned firmly on them. Once it gets to the final four or five, he’ll make his big move.
  • Michael
    • Hometown: New York, NY
    • Occupation: Lawyer
    • Michael believes his knack for deception makes him a natural fit for The Traitors. As a defense attorney, he often needs to represent those who are not innocent. His job could backfire though, making others view him as shady. Michael plans to counteract that by promoting some of the more admirable parts of his career.
  • Morgan
    • Hometown: Midland, MI
    • Occupation: Content Creator
    • Having spent plenty of time in human resources as a recruiter, Morgan hopes to downplay her previous occupation. However, that experience has helped her figure out whether a person is being genuine or manipulative. Regardless, she doesn’t want other people (especially the Traitors) knowing that.
  • Niyyah
    • Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
    • Occupation: Therapist
    • Being a therapist, much of what Niyyah does revolves around talking to people alone in a room. She believes her people skills will translate to building alliances and receiving plenty of information. Niyyah’s strategy also involves letting others do the talking, watching and listening more often than not.
  • Shane
    • Hometown: Staten Island, NY
    • Occupation: Ironworker
    • Others tend to view Shane as a gentle giant, and he hopes that’s how this cast sees him as well. He wants to be himself, but he also doesn’t want to lead the charge on voting anyone out. Introducing new names to the conversation could be a way to separate himself, avoiding any accusations of playing a passive game.
  • Sherry
    • Hometown: Leawood, KS
    • Occupation: Writer
    • Having started out as a journalist, Sherry has done her fair share of interviews. She’s used to listening and making conclusions off of what others are telling her. The Kansan emphasizes that what people don’t tell you is often just as important as what they do say.
  • Tomica
    • Hometown: Boston, MA
    • Occupation: Pilot
    • Tomica’s role as a mother may be her biggest asset. It’s her “ninth sense,” an added level of intuition that could prove invaluable. As a pilot, she’s also accustomed to working with a lot of people and keeping her cool under pressure. Having lived all over the country throughout her life, Tomica has experience talking to just about everyone as well.
  • Victor
    • Hometown: New York, NY
    • Occupation: Business Executive
    • Hard work alone won’t get Victor to the end of this game. Using his mind, along with some charm and charisma, could make the biggest difference. The New Yorker isn’t going to focus on the lying aspect of The Traitors. Instead, he’s going to make sure everyone likes him first. Victor is hoping to build a coalition of players that will vouch for him.
  • Wyatt
    • Hometown: Ligonier, PA
    • Occupation: Designer
    • Wyatt views himself as a people pleaser, prioritizing the needs of others first. He might play dumb, at least to start. By presenting himself as a non-threat, the opposite might come to fruition. Underestimating anyone on a show like this can be a fatal mistake.
  • Xavier
    • Hometown: Wesley Chapel, FL
    • Occupation: MLB Analyst
    • Perhaps the most famous person on this list, Xavier spent parts of three seasons in the big leagues before working as an analyst. His past as a ballplayer is proof that there will be peaks and valleys; never getting too high or too low is important over the long haul. In addition, understanding who the leader is could help inform any future decisions. In Xavier’s mind, the parallels between baseball and The Traitors are numerous.
