Jadarian Price enters the Seahawks’ Week 1 matchup against the Patriots with a rushing yards prop worth considering. Julian Edlow breaks down the matchup, expected workload and why he likes this Jadarian Price rushing yards bet.

It’s banner night for the defending champion Seahawks, as the NFL season kicks off with its new Wednesday Night Football opener. Seattle will look to run it back with the majority of the pieces from its Super Bowl roster, but one key piece is missing from the offense — Kenneth Walker departed for the Chiefs.

Walker won SB MVP after shredding New England’s defense for 135 rushing yards on 27 carries. Seattle returns its entire offensive line from a season ago, and I’d expect more success on the ground again this season. With Walker in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet still recovering from a torn ACL, the Seahawks needed to address their backfield in a major way.

They did just that, using their first round pick on Jadarian Price — a RB from Notre Dame. Price shared the backfield with Jeremiyah Love, who was selected No. 3 overall by the Cardinals, while with the Irish. Even with Love handling more carries, Price managed to rush for over 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons combined. He averaged six yards per carry during his three seasons in college.

Because Price was never the featured back during his time with Notre Dame, we haven’t seen him reach his full potential as a featured RB. The rookie also has less miles on his legs and enters the NFL fresh. A minor injury in camp prevented Seattle from putting Price on the field during preseason. I’m not worried about that at all, and actually feel it shows how valuable the Seahawks feel their new weapon is to this offense.

Given the current state of the backfield, Price projects to play a workhorse role, particularly early in the season. But we haven’t even seen the rookie suite up yet, and I believe that’s giving us a buy-low opportunity on Price out of the gates. I wrote up why I’m backing Price to go over his rushing prop for DraftKings Network earlier this summer, and am taking the same approach on his player prop for his NFL debut.

The Patriots had one of the better run defenses in the NFL in 2025, with the Super Bowl outburst by Walker being one of a few outliers. But even against a strong unit defending the rush, Price should be in for a large enough work load to clear a low number here.

NFL Pick: Jadarian Price OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
