Editors Note: I initially published this article on Price’s prop giving out the OVER 749.5 rushing yards on July 23. It has since ticked up to 799.5, which I am still comfortable recommending a play on. In developing news since July 23, we now have confirmation that Charbonnet is out to start the season. Price did not get any carries in the preseason, but projects in line to be Seattle’s workhorse back early in 2026. Here’s what I wrote up on Price back in July.
The Seattle Seahawks will look to defend their Super Bowl title without their SB MVP, Kenneth Walker III. Walker shredded the Patriots for 135 yards on the ground in the biggest game of the season, but is now off to a Super Bowl hopeful in the AFC — the Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle made replacing Walker a priority when it used its first round pick in April’s NFL Draft on Jadarian Price out of Notre Dame. So what type of production can we expect from Price in the NFL? Let’s breakdown his season-long rushing prop.
Jadarian Price OVER/UNDER 749.5 Rushing Yards
We saw two running backs go in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Funny enough, they were teammates at Notre Dame. Price was selected with the final pick of the round, while the Cardinals fell in love with Jeremiyah Love and used the No. 3 overall pick to add to their backfield.
Love and Price obviously split time for the Fighting Irish, but it was Love that was generally featured a bit more. That said, what we did see of Price during his three seasons in South Bend was electric. He carried 260 times over his career, rushing for 1,692 yards and 21 touchdowns — good for 6.0 yards per carry. The good news for Price and the Seahawks at the NFL level, aside from the explosiveness he displayed in college, is that the rookie doesn’t have a ton of miles on his legs.
Generally, a running back selected in the first round has been used a ton in college. But playing with/behind Love allows Price to enter his NFL career more fresh than we’re accustomed to seeing. That should bode well for Seattle’s need for immediate help in the backfield.
Aside from losing Walker, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, Zach Charbonnet is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the playoffs. Charbonnet and Walker nearly split the backfield duties during the 2025 regular season, with about a 55/45 share in Walker’s favor. Charbonnet finished with 730 rushing yards, but was a bigger factor in the red zone, where he scored 12 touchdowns to Walker’s five.
While a timeline on Charbonnet is still unclear, the Seahawks have placed him on the PUP list. It’s possible that tag is removed prior to the start of the regular season, but if it isn’t, Charbonnet would be required to miss the first four games of the season. That would create a huge opportunity for Price to be in a workhorse RB role right out of the gates in his NFL career. And he has the fresh legs to handle it.
While it seems clear that Charbonnet will return at some point, when and how he will be eased in are still looming question marks. Seldom used George Holani and Emanuel Wilson round out the depth chart. It’s conceivable that if Charbonnet remains on PUP, Price would see the lion’s share of the carries for at least four weeks. And even if Charbonnet begins the season on the roster, Price would likely still be leading the backfield to begin the year.
That gives the rookie not only a shot to stack up some numbers early in the season, but also a chance to run away with the featured job until further notice. Again, this is a backfield that produced a 1,000-yard rusher and a 730-yard rusher last season. With Price’s prop set at OVER/UNDER 749.5 or 750+ in the Rookie Futures markets on DraftKings Sports, I feel we’re getting an extremely modest number here on a high-upside player.
I’ll back Price to go for 750+ on the ground in his rookie season, and think ALTs of 1,000+ and potentially even more are absolutely in play.
