The two-time Silver Slugger, 27, has been on fire since the turn of August, boasting a .915 OPS with 12 of his 20 home runs during that sizzling stretch. Fresh off going yard against a recent Cy Young winner, Tatis now draws a favorable Labor Day matchup with the beleaguered Jake Irvin. The 29-year-old righty is saddled with a 5.57 ERA and a 5.29 xERA across 18 starts (85.2 IP) in 2026. There are few hitters more imposing at the plate right now than Rafael Devers. He leads MLB with nine home runs, 16 runs scored, and 21 RBIs during the 14-game heater.
Devers now gets the privilege of taking batting practice off Cardinals right-hander Michael McGreevy, whose 5.36 xERA across 27 starts (147.1 IP) is the second-highest mark among qualified starters. The former World Series champ is 3-for-5 (.600) with a pair of bombs in his previous run-ins with McGreevy.

The American League Cy Young race is going down to the wire, with Toronto ace Dylan Cease currently neck-and-neck with New York’s Cam Schlittler. Gaudy strikeout numbers bolster the former’s case; he paces the AL in strikeout rate (35.5 percent) and Ks per nine innings (12.72).
