Big Brother Live Feed Spoilers: Sunday Recap from Season 28 Week 3

Tea parties are usually seen as civilized affairs where people are on their best, most polite behavior.

What happened Sunday night in the Big Brother house was certainly anything but that. And in the end Jason was left on an island almost literally fighting for his life in the game.

Big Brother Season 28 Week 3 Results

Sunday’s episode began Week 3 of the summer-long competition, as a new Head of Household was crowned. The Toolshed once again grabbed power for the week, with Kamu earning the HOH key.

How will Kamu’s reign compare to that of his allies Dee and Devens? Only time will tell.

Big Brother Sunday Live Feed Spoilers

Serving up tea

I’m going to get right to it. As seen on Sunday’s episode (read my recap here), Kamu won HOH for this week and was convinced by Drew to give Jason the same treatment Rome got last week. Kamu is down to leave Jason off the block initially and backdoor him if given the chance. Lyric became Kamu’s pawn, much to her chagrin. As it turns out, this all works out almost perfectly for Kamu as Lyric won the veto comp over the weekend.

More pieces of the puzzle come to together, as Mallory is planning a tea party (remember, she loves a themed party) and Kamu gets word that Jason may have broken a deal he made with Kamu where he promised not to use the veto if he won it (LaLa had chosen Jason to play in the veto comp). This all leads to an incredibly awkward tea party that ends with Jason ostracized from just about everyone in the house.

After a relatively benign start to the proceedings, we get to the main event. Kamu is looking for an excuse as to why he is putting Jason on the block and pulls out the veto revelation. Jason denies he ever made a promise to use the Power of Veto on anyone (with LaLa backing him up) and Kamu airs out the notion that Jason separately told people that he wants to target the Icons and the Red Corner. Kamu won’t say who told him this information, which Jason is denying. During all the drama of this tea party, LaLa and “the middle men” are catching strays, but the main battlefront is Kamu vs. Jason.

During the course of this showdown, Jason is basically on an island by himself, which is what Kamu’s intention appears to have been all along. I will note that LaLa is the only person to come to Jason’s defense, asking how is anything Jason is doing wrong and isn’t he just playing the game (all of which draws Kamu’s ire). I will also point out that of everyone in the argument, Devens does his best to try and cool things down and speak honestly and respectfully with Jason (which he takes a step further later when he goes up to let Jason know he’s there if he needs anything). The party is encapsulated when Jason is met with crickets when he asks if he should just pack his bags and asks if anyone wants to help him.

Whew, this went from 0 to 60 real quick and turned into a lot. I will say, I don’t love the game Jason has played this season (Angela was right when she called him messy), but I also don’t love the fake tough guy schtick Kamu played up here (right down to dressing in all black). Most of the houseguests seem to side with Kamu, with some calling the fight “iconic” and Angela comparing it to the infamous “Red Wedding.” However, Devens seems to think there is a possibility it could actually blow up in Kamu’s face and Angela even says she doesn’t want to make Jason feel isolated because she knows how that feels from Big Brother 26. It may have been “good TV” on some level, but it definitely felt like it became a bit of mob mentality and things become very interesting if Jason wins the blockbuster and then wins HOH next week.

If this was all a bit too much for you leave you with this purest encapsulation of the tea party that could have ever existed.

Sticking with the tea party for a second, Kamu basically admits that Jason is going to be the re-nomination once Lyric uses the Power of Veto. Technically, you’re not supposed to do that. Did the producers allow it in the name of good TV or will there be repercussions coming for Kamu?

In the aftermath of the train wreck that was the tea party, Jason decided to go into the kitchen and start BANGING ON A TEAPOT. He says since everyone likes tea, he’ll be serving it up real soon. Unfortunately for him, he woke up Taylor and she read him for filth as a result.

And finally, before all the messy drama got started Drew and Barrett were serving up looks for the houseguests.

Who won HOH this week?

KAMU won HOH on Sunday, making it three weeks in a row that a member of the Toolshed alliance took control of the house.

Who won Power of Veto this week?

LYRIC, who was nominated for eviction this week, won the Power of Veto this week.

Who was nominated for eviction this week?

As head of household, Kamu nominated LA TRICE, MALLORY and LYRIC for eviction this week. LYRIC won the Power of Veto, so Kamu will have to select another houseguest as a replacement nominee.

Who is the target this week?

This week’s target for Kamu appears to be JASON. Kamu initially planned to nominate Jason for eviction from the start but then Drew convinced him instead to backdoor Jason just like the Toolshed did to Rome last week.
