After the All-Star break, the MLB is back to its regular busy schedule of matchups as another full weekend wraps up with 16 games on the schedule this first Sunday after the All-Star break. All 30 teams are in action in the afternoon, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees will play the second game of their doubleheader in the Bronx as the Sunday Night Baseball matchup. With both teams loaded with star power and plenty of storylines, let’s take a look at my top three best bets from the player prop market in these Sunday Night Baseball matchups.
The Dodgers are -131 on the moneyline and are getting 69% of the bets on the moneyline as of Sunday afternoon. The over/under is 9.0 runs, with 55% of bets coming in on the under.
For each Major League Baseball matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook has a wide variety of batter and pitcher props on the board, so let’s take a look at my top plays from this fun Sunday night Dodgers-Yankees matchup.
Dodgers at Yankees Prop Bets for Sunday 7/19/26
Max Muncy 2+ Total Bases (+136)
Since the starting pitchers haven’t been announced, we’re going to attack hitters across the board in this matchup. The Dodgers are going to go with a bullpen game, while the Yankees could “potentially” go with rookie Elmer Rodriguez after being added as the 27th man on the roster for the twin bill. Rodriguez is a 22-year-old righty who has a 4.76 ERA in his four MLB starts and a 2.85 ERA in his 13 starts at Triple-A.
The Dodgers have a packed lineup of lefties that hit righties well, including Muncy, who has plenty of pop from the left side. Muncy had a pair of singles in the first game of the doubleheader, and he homered on Friday in the first game after the All-Star break.
Before the break, he had multiple total bases in four of his last 10 games, even though he only hit .212 during that span. He has the potential to hit the over on this plus-money prop with a pair of singles as he did in Game 1 or with an extra-base hit, which will keep this prop alive until his very last at-bat.
Ben Rice Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110)
Rice was rolling going into the break, and even though he didn’t have the best Home Run Derby, he’s back to mashing as the key to the Yankees’ lineup while Aaron Judge is out. He had 228 hits, runs and RBIs coming into the day in 92 games, giving him an average of 2.5 HRR (hits, runs and RBIs) per game on the season.
Rice smashed six homers in his last 12 contests and has racked up 37 HRR for an average of 3.1 HRR per game. If you want to be more aggressive, Rice is +153 to get 3+ HRR, which is a solid option if you think the Yankees will be able to get good run production against the Dodgers’ bullpen.
Since the Dodgers’ pen is solid, I’m going to be a little more conservative and play him to just get over 1.5 HRR, which he has reached in seven of his last eight games before Sunday’s Game 1.
Shohei Ohtani 3+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+132)
Ohtani has been outstanding for the Dodgers both on the mound and at the plate this season. While he has been shut down from pitching due to a knee injury, he continues to rake. He had five HRR in the opener, going 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.
Before Sunday’s strong opener, Ohtani was hitting .275 over his previous 17 games with 42 HRR for an average of 2.5 HRR per game over that span. The lefty has a 48.1% hard-hit rate and a 17.3% barrel rate over that span, and he has the potential to homer in any matchup.
As long as he’s in the lineup, he has a very high ceiling and the potential to get 3+ HRR in any single at-bat. Getting him at +132 is good value. If you combine these three hitter props into a Same Game Parlay, the odds combine to +750.
