Du Plessis vs. Usman seems like a title eliminator at 185 pounds, as both can make a very good case for the next Middleweight title shot. DDP won three consecutive UFC title fights from January 2024 to February 2025, but his winning streak ended in his last fight against Khamzat Chimaev. Usman beat Joaquin Buckley in his last bout, but it was 13 months ago. This is a very close matchup between two extremely versatile fighters who are skilled on the feet and on the ground. Usman’s last three fights have gone to a decision, and he hasn’t won a fight by finish since April 2021. Also, Du Plessis’s last two contests have gone the distance, and three of his previous four bouts have gone to a decision.
In the second leg of my parlay, I’m taking Tommy McMillen to beat Alberto Montes by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission. McMillen possesses a similar level of confidence and elite finishing ability that his training partner, Sean O’Malley, had during his ascent to superstardom. McMillen is 10-0 with nine finishes and faces Montes, who has won four straight fights by submission and is 12-1. With a five-inch height and reach advantage, McMillen should be able to dictate the pace of this fight and get the best of Montes on the feet.
Christian Leroy Duncan is coming off a win against Roman Dolidze in March, which was his best victory to date. Now, CLD takes on another veteran in Jared Cannonier, who is 1-3 in his previous four contests. Former title challenger Cannonier is 5-5 in his last 10 fights, and his best days seem behind him. As Cannonier has gotten older, his pace, quickness, and activity have declined, leaving him unable to keep up with the next generation at Middleweight. I think CLD will be able to pick apart Cannonier on the feet with his elite striking and top-tier athleticism.
