Arizona Diamondbacks Team Total Over 4.5 Runs

Odds: -125 | Opponent: Cincinnati Reds

Nick Lodolo returned to the Reds rotation last month, and it’s been ugly. Through six starts, he’s posted a 5.51 ERA with a 6.63 xERA and a 6.50 FIP. Hitters are making a lot more contact than in previous seasons, as his 6.8 K/9 is well below his career average of 9.7. Home runs have been a major issue as well, with his 2.2 HR/9 marking the highest rate he’s allowed since 2023.

Tonight, he’ll face one of the best lineups in baseball against left-handed pitching. The Diamondbacks combine for a .375 wOBA with a .233 ISO against lefties this season and should have plenty of opportunities against Lodolo. His struggles have been even more pronounced at home, where he owns a 6.75 ERA with a .415 wOBA allowed and five of the eight home runs he’s surrendered. Through three home starts, Lodolo has allowed at least three earned runs in each of them. With Arizona’s ability to hit lefties and Lodolo’s continued struggles at Great American Ball Park, I like the Diamondbacks to score at least five runs tonight.

Kody Clemens 2+ Total Bases

Odds: +117 | Opponent: St. Louis Cardinals

Clemens is likely a name you don’t think of much when placing your daily bets. But I’m looking to make money, so I’ll bet on whoever the hell I think is going to give me a legitimate chance. Clemens is that guy for me tonight in his matchup against Kyle Leahy. Leahy’s struggles against lefties this season have been well documented. He owns a .421 wOBA against them with a 5.73 FIP and a 1.8 HR/9. Six of the eight home runs he’s allowed have come from left-handed bats. That’s where Clemens enters the mix. He’s been having a solid month of June and has been hitting for some pop. Of his 10 hits this month, six have gone for extra bases. Overall, his .230 ISO for the season is the highest mark of his career. I like betting him to record 2+ total bases tonight in this matchup.

Tatsuya Imai over 2.5 Walks

Odds: +124 | Opponent: Kansas City Royals

This bet caught my attention when I saw it was priced at +124. Imai has struggled with his control throughout his career in the NPB and here in his first season in the majors. Through 34.1 innings, he owns a 6.03 BB/9 and has walked at least three hitters in six of his eight starts. In the times he didn’t, they did come in two of his last four, but his command isn’t magically fixed. Lefties have drawn 17 of the 23 walks he’s issued this season.. The Royals should have between five and six of them in the lineup tonight, giving us a good chance of earning those walks. Tonight’s expected lineup has a solid 9.1% BB% on the season against righties, showing that they’re capable of being patient. I’m more than willing to take this at +124.
