Ausar Thompson 6+ Assists (+598): To say I was surprised to see this as the night’s most popular prop would be an understatement. Ausar Thompson isn’t exactly known for his passing chops. Heck, he’s not really know for anything on the offensive side of the ball. That said, the former fifth-overall pick has clearly been in more of a playmaking role since Game 5 of the Pistons’ first-round series against the Magic. Thompson averaged just 1.5 dimes over his first four starts of the postseason, yet that figure has jumped to 4.7 over his last six contests, including two games with exactly six assists. This wager still seems a little too risky for my liking, though it is worth pointing out the the Cavaliers are surrendering 25.1 opponent assists per game in the playoffs — the most of any remaining squad.
Rui Hachimura 3+ Three-Pointers Made (+110): This one of those stats that comes with an asterisk, because Austin Reaves has only been available for five games, but Rui Hachimura leads the Lakers in postseason three-point attempts (50) and makes (29). That’s not a misprint, either. The man is shooting a cool 58.0% from distance in Los Angeles’ nine contests since the regular season ended. It’s hard to ask for more, but the public will, for at least one more game. Specifically in this series against the Thunder, Hachimura has canned at least three three-balls in all three starts, even going 5-for-8 from behind the arc in Game 3. Considering he’s averaging 38.0 minutes per contest and Los Angeles is facing elimination on Monday, I have no problem going back to this well, especially at plus-money.
LeBron James Over 22.5 Points (-117): James had a clunker in Game 3, shooting just 7-for-19 from the field and finishing with 19 points. Still, James has gone over this prop in six of his last eight starts, and while his usage rate hasn’t been above 30% in any game in the Thunder series, he’s still this team’s No. 1 scoring option — particularly with the aforementioned Reaves unable to hit a shot. There’s also a hefty amount of narrative street building behind this bet. While I’m not sure anyone legitimately thinks LeBron is going to retire at the end of 2025-26, we are talking about a 41-year-old man. So who knows? If there’s even a 1% chance this is the last time LeBron James takes an NBA court, I assume he’s going to want to show out with a huge stat line.
