AEW Dynamite takes place tonight, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota. This edition of Dynamite serves as the build to AEW Dynasty, which will take place in a few weeks at the Rogers Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Several matches have now been announced for this week’s show, including a mega #1 Contenders match for the AEW World Championship between Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega! The AEW Women’s World Championship will also be on the line when Thekla defends her title against Mina Shirakawa.

AEW Dynamite Match Card for Tonight (March 25, 2026)
Here’s a look at what’s on tap for tonight’s AEW Dynamite card in St. Paul.
Swerve Strickland vs. Kenny Omega – Winner becomes #1 Contender for the AEW World Championship
AEW has already done a fantastic job at hyping this match up, giving it that big fight feel. Swerve Strickland added a bit more to this match during his promo, stating that he wanted Omega to put his EVP status on the line as well.
I was a bit surprised about that being brought up. It’s very well known that Omega is an Executive Vice President in AEW but it’s not as loud as, say, The Young Bucks have made it. Omega never really puts that out there, so I was intrigued by Strickland bringing it up. And because it isn’t brought up often, it does make me wonder if this leads to Swerve winning.
That being said, I don’t really know what Swerve would do with that title should he win it. Would his character evolve into a one man power trip that uses his newly found power left and right? Would he use it to almost be a bit of an on-screen GM, which is something AEW has tended to steer clear from? It’s an interesting dynamic to consider.
Despite that, I do think Omega walks away with the victory in this one. He’s been on and off television frequently over the past six months but we’re now fresh into a return for him. MJF vs. Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty would be a fantastic match and one that would be an anchor for one of the lower tier AEW PPV (although it never comes across that way with the caliber of matches that are put on). The EVP stipulation certainly threw me for a loop when deciding a winner but I’m sticking with Omega.

“Timeless” Toni Storm expected to miss all of 2026, per report.
Thekla vs. Mina Shirakawa – AEW Women’s World Championship
Last week before AEW Dynamite went on the air, AEW posted a video of “Timeless” Toni Storm laid out in the locker room, apparently suffering a brutal attack by a mystery attacker. Since then, reports have surfaced that Storm will be out for the remainder of 2026. It’s a brutal blow to the AEW Women’s division, even with how deep it is. Storm has been on her A game since the iteration of her “Timeless” persona.
Thekla stated that Storm “staged” this attack because Storm is afraid to face her. Now, Storm’s close friend Mina Shirakawa, who earned a victory over Marina Shafir last week in a No Holds Barred match, will fight Thekla. Shirakawa took the place of Storm in that No Holds Barred match last week after she was attacked backstage. Shafir stated she had nothing to do with the attack but wasn’t able to defeat Shirakawa later that night.
I fully expect Thekla to carry the AEW Women’s Championship into AEW Dynasty, so a victory here seems inevitable. I am curious who she’ll be paired with for that PPV, so maybe we’ll get more clarity here on Dynamite (cough Megan Bayne cough)

Rush vs. Darby Allin – Singles Match
Darby Allin is on a hell of a run right now. Looking at his recent singles matches, he hasn’t been defeated in 2026 and his last loss came during the Continental Classic against Kevin Knight. After beating Gabe Kidd in a Coffin Match last week, which likely ended that feud, Allin is setting his sights on the AEW World Championship.
As talented as Rush is, I find it hard to believe he’s going to pick up a victory here against Allin. This run for Allin sort of has that “Hangman” Adam Page feel, where he’s just plowing through the competition, en route to his inevitable match for the AEW World Championship. The only issue is, I’m truly not sure when that’s going to happen. I believe MJF is going to carry the title all the way to All In in London and drop it to Will Ospreay. That doesn’t mean that Allin won’t have his moment before then but I feel as if when it DOES happen, he should win the gold.
Rush vs. Darby Allin Prediction: Darby Allin earns the win
The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) vs. The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay)
It’s been a long time coming, but Roderick Strong FINALLY joined The Conglomeration! His announcement was met, however, by a challenge from The Dogs, specifically Clark Connors and David Finlay. I’m a bit surprised on how The Dogs have been used thus far, as they’ve been quickly piling up losses in AEW. It’s not enough that it they don’t feel like much of a threat yet, but it could trend in that direction if it continues.
I think this is a great opportunity for The Dogs to picked up a needed victory against this newly formed iteration of The Conglomeration. The team of Finlay and Connors haven’t been featured in a tag team match as of yet, only in Trios matches. I think they grab their first victory here on AEW Dynamite.

- Will Ospreay def. Blake Christian. Ospreay won in his return match, then called out Jon Moxley and attacked him and the Death Riders after the match.
- Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta def. Bang Bang Gang. Chaos from Ospreay’s attack spilled into this match before Moxley and Yuta picked up the win.
- Mina Shirakawa def. Marina Shafir (No Holds Barred Match). Shirakawa replaced Toni Storm and scored a surprising victory.
- Darby Allin def. Gabe Kidd (Coffin Match). The match started in the parking lot and ended with Allin putting Kidd in the coffin for the win.
- Tag Team Championship segment: The Young Bucks addressed their loss at Revolution before being interrupted by Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who will challenge FTR at AEW Dynasty.
- Swerve Strickland vs. Kenny Omega set for next week. A major No. 1 contender match was announced with added stipulations.
