Even though both starting pitchers are rookies, Shane Smith has started 15 more games this season. Although Schlittler hasn’t seen a lot of action, he has performed well recently. Schlittler has only allowed one run in his previous three starts while giving up seven total hits in that span. Smith has only allowed four runs once in his last seven starts, but has only pitched six-plus innings twice in his previous 10 outings.

The White Sox have lost four straight games and are 4-11 in their last 15. With Chicago’s offense showing no signs of life, another big victory seems to be on the horizon for New York.
