Kenneth Walker III Rushing & Receiving Yards Pick for Chiefs vs. Seahawks

Kenneth Walker III Rushing & Receiving Yards Pick for Chiefs vs. Seahawks

Kenneth Walker III and the Kansas City Chiefs will wrap up the Week 7 Sunday slate with a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

There will be plenty of attention on Walker’s return to the place where he enjoyed so much success. The last time he left the field wearing a Seahawks jersey, he was hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and being named Super Bowl MVP. Now suiting up in enemy colors, Walker will face a different reception from the Seattle faithful than he has been accustomed to.

Looking at the odds for the Week 7 SNF matchup, the Seahawks enter as three-point favorites with the game total set at 42.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in this battle of recent Super Bowl champions. Check out the game preview and more on DraftKings Network. For now, here’s my top Kenneth Walker III prop bet for Sunday Night Football.

Kenneth Walker III Best Rushing & Receiving Yards Pick vs. Seahawks

Kenneth Walker III Over 107.5 Combined Rushing & Receiving Yards (-111)

There is sure to be plenty of attention surrounding Kenneth Walker III’s return to Seattle. After all, he emerged as one of the more dynamic running backs in the league across his four seasons with the franchise, recording 3,555 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground, along with 1,005 receiving yards and two additional touchdowns through the air. Walker has taken his game to even greater heights in his first five games with Kansas City and will be eager to build on that production in this one.

The Chiefs have not been shy about giving their reigning Super Bowl MVP the football at a high rate, and he has rewarded them with his production. Walker has recorded at least 18 rushing attempts in every game this season. He has totaled 106 carries for an NFL-leading 665 rushing yards and six touchdowns. The 26-year-old is averaging an NFL-best 133.0 rushing yards per game and has added 95 receiving yards with a pair of receiving touchdowns. Walker is averaging an impressive 6.3 yards per carry and has recorded at least 117 rushing yards in four of his five games. In fact, he has yet to finish a game with fewer than 70 rushing yards during his Chiefs career.

Seattle has a strong defense that served as a foundation for the team’s success last season. Through the first six weeks of this season, the Seahawks rank fifth in opponents’ points allowed and first in total yards conceded. They rank 10th in total rushing yards allowed, sixth in rushing touchdowns conceded, and fourth in net yards per rush attempt. As much attention has been spent talking about the revenge factor from Walker III’s perspective, there also will be a clear vested interest from his former teammates to prevent him from finding his form.

With a strong rushing defense already, and Kansas City’s lack of reliable wide receivers likely not playing a factor in driving too much fear in Mike Macdonald’s defense, count on the Seahawks having a focused effort on loading up the box around the line of scrimmage. If Seattle maintains this game plan, we can expect the Chiefs to counter by scaling up Walker III’s usage in the passing game. He has recorded at least one reception in every game this season and as many as six in a matchup.

The standard rushing prop is set at 79.5 rushing yards on DraftKings Sportsbook for Walker III in this matchup. While my lean is toward him still finding a way to clear this, I feel better about the combined rushing and receiving total given the different ways in which he can make his impact felt. The reigning Super Bowl MVP is averaging 152.0 yards from scrimmage this season. Buy into the extra motivation being a factor and Andy Reid being fully cognizant of this. Expect Walker III to surpass 107.5 combined rushing and receiving yards for the fifth time this season in front of the Seahawks faithful.
