Will Cam Ward Save the Titans? NFL Predictions, Betting Splits for Tennessee

Published:

By: Nick Friar

Not only did the Titans finish 3-14 straight-up last season, Tennessee also went just 2-15 against the spread โ€” the two covers came in two of the 11 games that they were the underdog. But with the Cam Ward era set to begin, that’s all behind them, right? โ€ฆright?

The Titans enter the season +370 to make the playoffs, which are the fifth-longest odds in that market on DraftKings Sportsbook. But, bettors don’t seem overly interested in that play, as you’ll see momentarily.

With plenty of bettors already casting their 2025 Titans predictions on DraftKings Sportsbook, we can see where sharps and the public are leaning when it comes to both player props and team futures. So, let’s get into those numbers.

Titans Win Total

The Titans have a win total of 5.5, which is a slight bump from last season. Still, the sharps aren’t buying in on Cam Ward and his talented pass-catchers just yet.

That’s proven by the way the betting splits break down. Half of the bets have gone toward the Titans going over 5.5 wins, and half have gone toward the under. But the real difference lies in the handle. Only 36% of the handle on this play has gone toward the over.

Similarly, of all the “to make the playoffs” options in the NFL, the Titans and their aforementioned +370 odds have seen the 31st-most handle in this market (a.k.a second-least).

Cam Ward Futures Splits

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ward is toward the top of the board in the Offensive Rookie of the Year odds. However, his odds have already ballooned from +200 to +350. Yes, a better chance at value, but also indication some of the significant bets have gone elsewhere (like the favored Ashton Jeanty).

Looking at the splits on Ward’s OROY candidacy, he has seen the second-highest percentage of bets (14%) in this market. The problem is that’s only accounted for 8% of this market’s handle, thus providing at least one reason for his odds worsening.

Looking elsewhere for Ward props, we see a lean on his Regular Season Passing Yards and Regular Season Passing TDs props.

  • The over on 3200.5 Regular Season Passing Yards has seen 69% of the handle on 30% of the bets.
  • The under on 19.5 Regular Season Passing TDs has seen 76% of the handle on 36% of the bets.

If you’re bullish on Ward, the splits are favorable for the over on his season-long passing yards prop. If you’re looking to fade him, sharp money has gravitated toward the under in the season-long passing TDs market.

Other Notable Player Prop Splits

Calvin Ridley’s Regular Season Receiving Yards line is set at 925.5. The over on that play has seen a whopping 97% of the bets. However, those predictions have only accounted for 81% of the handle.

While that only means 3% of the bets made on this play have been toward the under, those predictions have accounted for 19% of the handle. Either fade Ridley or look for a different Titans pass-catcher to take the over on in this market.

Looking to the backfield, Tony Pollard’s Regular Season Rushing Yards total is 900.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The under is both the sharp and public play, having seen 95% of the handle on 74% of the bets. If you think Ward could have a negative impact on Pollard’s rushing output, the betting splits indicate this is a solid way to fade the Tennessee RB.

While the data above will help you with season-long plays, the following stats produced by Ridley and Pollard in 2024 are instead applicable to gameday player props.

  • Calvin Ridley
    • Receptions: 10-6 to the under
  • Tony Pollard
    • Rush Attempts: 10-5 to the over
