The final game of Week 8 looks like it might be a banger. A high-powered Bears offense is on the road tonight in Seattle in front of what’ll surely be a rowdy crowd as they take on the reigning champions. Every single piece of this attack will need to be at their best, including Colston Loveland, the second-year tight end who already looks more like himself with his starting quarterback under center than he did over much of the early going.
Here are the best Colston Loveland prop bets for Bears vs. Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 8.
Best Colston Loveland prop bet for Bears vs. Seahawks
Last season, a rookie Colston Loveland came on down the stretch of the season and broke out as a real weapon. He led the Bears with 58 receptions and 713 receiving yards, tying for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with six. A massive performance in the playoffs fully put him on the map as a household name, setting the stage for a big 2026 campaign.
However, this season has been pretty difficult on Loveland. He caught just one pass over the first two weeks and had just 13 receptions for 110 yards over the first five games. Backup quarterback play was a contributing factor in that slow start since star signal-caller Caleb Williams was sidelined after Week 2, but the quarterback’s return has sparked a resurgence from Loveland over the past two outings. The tight end has caught 13 passes on 19 total targets, amassing 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns – his last two weeks with Williams back under center have practically matched his first five games combined.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Loveland’s player prop bet lines are set at O/U 4.5 receptions and 43.5 receiving yards. His +235 odds to score an anytime touchdown are the fifth shortest of any player in this game. The Bears are also a 3.5-point underdog on the road with the total set at 46.5 combined points.
This is going to be a very tough matchup for the entirety of the Chicago offense. Seattle’s defense ranks third in EPA/play and EPA/dropback allowed, also sitting second in success rate and explosive play rate allowed. For Loveland in particular, the circumstances aren’t much better. The Seahawks give up 6.4 targets and just 4.7 receptions per game to tight ends, both of which are on in the league’s lower third. They also allow only 34.4 receiving yards per game to the position, second fewest of any team.
The good news for Loveland’s outlook is that he’ll likely still see plenty of chances. His team is a road underdog against the reigning champs, who happen to be one of the best defenses in the league against the run. Getting much going on the ground should prove quite difficult, meaning Chicago may have to throw the ball a little more than usual in this spot. Plus, second-string tight end Cole Kmet will miss the remainder of the season due to injury, meaning the talent gap between Loveland and rookie Sam Roush is a little larger than it was between he and the now-injured veteran. In theory, that means slightly less competition at the position for targets.
Loveland has clearly played better football ever since Williams returned under center two games ago. His production has returned to the level most pundits expected and he’s serving as the team’s top passing target with a 26.1% target share and a 31.7% first-read share over these two performances, so it’s not unreasonable to assume things will flow through him again tonight. With the recent bump in his numbers over the last two games, it’s not unreasonable to project Loveland for over 4.5 receptions, even in a difficult matchup tonight.
Best Bet: Colston Loveland over 4.5 receptions (+111)
