Trae Young Injury Update: January 27 vs. the Timberwolves

UPDATE: On Sunday, the Hawks ruled Trae Young out for Monday’s contest.

Trae Young has been dealing with right Achilles tendonitis but has only missed one game since the start of the new year — the Jan. 15 game against the Chicago Bulls.

Young played 40 and 39 minutes on Wednesday and Thursday’s back-to-back. He was questionable for Saturday with hamstring tightness but played 38 minutes. He struggled, though, shooting 5-of-12 from the field with only four assists and 11 turnovers.

On Sunday, Young was designated as questionable for Monday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves once again with the same hamstring issue.

If Young is unable to go, then Dyson Daniels and Vit Krejci would likely handle the backcourt duties while Garrison Mathews could make his third start of the season.

Atlanta has a back-to-back situation on Monday and Tuesday.
