The final week of the 2024 PFL Playoffs is finally here! It is the semi-finals for Welterweights and Featherweights. In the main event, 2022 PFL champion Brendan Loughnane will take on Kai Kamaka III and Gabriel Braga will fight Timur Khizriev for a spot in the finals of the 2024 PFL Championship. The co-main event features No. 2 Magomed Umalatov who is taking on No. 5 Neiman Gracie while No. 1 Shamil Musaev will face No. 4 Murad Ramazanov for a chance to fight for the 2024 Welterweight championship.
This event takes place on Friday, August 23 at The Anthem in Washington, DC. The Prelims begin at 7:00 P.M. ET on ESPN+ while the main card airs on ESPN and ESPN+ at 10:00 P.M. ET.
Loughnane is a -305 favorite over Kamaka III, who is +245 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Loughnane is 2-0 in the 2024 season with two finishes. His most recent victory came against Justin Gonzales in the second round on June 28. Since joining the PFL in 2019, Loughnane has gone 11-2 while becoming one of the company’s biggest stars. Kamaka is also 2-0 in 2024 while competing in his first PFL season. Kamaka previously was a Bellator fighter but made the transition to fight in the season format after the sale.
Umalatov is the biggest favorite on this card at -3200 to beat Gracie in the Welterweight Semifinal on DraftKings Sportsbook. Umalatov is 16-0 with 13 finishes in his MMA career and is 7-0 in PFL. Two months ago, he submitted Brennan Ward in the first round. The 26-year-old Braga, on the other hand, is 14-1 in his career and has had two intriguing finishes during the 2024 season.
In the first featherweight semifinal taking place, Khizriev is -425 to beat Braga who is +330 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Khizriev has a perfect record of 16-0 in MMA but hasn’t got a victory by way of finish since 2021. In June, Khizriev defeated Enrique Barzola by decision.
Musaev and Ramazanov will face each other for the second straight time on Friday night. In their first meeting in June of this year, Musaev knocked out Ramazanov in the second round. Musaev is the favorite at -360 to punch his ticket to the finals on DraftKings Sportsbook.
