DraftKings King of the End Zone Picks for Falcons vs. Saints Monday Night Football Game

DraftKings King of the End Zone Picks for Falcons vs. Saints Monday Night Football Game

By: Zach Thompson

Week 4 has already had some thrilling finishes and plenty of exciting matchups, and there’s still one final matchup on the scoreboard for this week, which also has the potential to be a great one. The New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in a divisional Monday Night Football matchup to close out the week. The matchup at the Superdome has the potential to be a high-scoring track meet between two aggressive offenses. To add even more hype to the great matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook is ready to roll with another massive King of the End Zone promotion.

This week’s King of the End Zone promo will award a massive $2 million in bonus bets. If you opt in to the token and place a singles bet of at least $5 on a player in a touchdown market and he scores the longest touchdown of the night, you win a share of the $2 million in bonus bets. In Week 1, Jaxon Smith-Njigba claimed the King of the End Zone crown, earning  $113 in Bonus Bets from DraftKings Sportsbook for bettors who placed their token on him. In Week 2 on Thursday Night Football, it was a long-shot winner as Joshua Palmer scored a 43-yard touchdown to earn $286 in Bonus Bets for his backers. In Week 3, Kalif Raymond scored the longest touchdown of Monday Night Football, with a $477 bonus bet credit to the bettors who selected him with their token.

Let’s run down some of the top plays for Week 4’s Monday Night Football version of DraftKings King of the End Zone.

King of the End Zone — What You Need to Know

The rules of the promotion are pretty simple. After opting in, bettors will receive a token to place on a singles bet with a $5 minimum in the “TD Scorers” market. If the player with the token scores the longest touchdown of the game, you will win a share of $2 million in bonus bets. The fewer people who have their token on that player, the larger the payout will be, so it’s important to balance out the popularity of the pick with the likelihood of it hitting. Taking a longer shot could land a massive payout, while picking a more obvious choice has a more likely chance of winning, even if the bonus bet payout is smaller.

Passing touchdowns are ineligible for this promotion, so if you want to pick Tyler Shough — for example — he’ll have to run it in himself for the longest score rather than pass for the touchdown. Despite not being an individual player, D/ST is eligible to become King of the End Zone if the longest touchdown comes on a defensive or special teams play.

King of the End Zone Preview & Picks | Monday, Oct. 5

Players with the shortest odds to score a TD:

  • Bijan Robinson (-210)
  • Drake London (+115)
  • Chris Olave (+120)
  • Alvin Kamara (+140)
  • Devaughn Vele (+220)

King of the End Zone Picks for Monday, Oct. 5:

When making King of the End Zone picks, it’s important to consider players who are not only likely to score a touchdown but are also likely to score the longest touchdown of the game. Many touchdowns could be scored in the game, but longer touchdowns have a better chance of claiming the King of the End Zone win. It’s also important to balance the popularity of the player for the King of the End Zone tokens as well, since a user’s share of bonus bets is tied to how popular their pick was.

These three picks are my favorite balance of likelihood to score, potential to score a long touchdown, and not too much popularity.

1. Drake London (+115 Anytime TD)

There is definitely some strategy to consider with Bijan Robinson and Drake London holding the shortest odds to score a touchdown. If you go with either of the focal points of the Falcons offense, your $5 minimum bet has a good chance of hitting, although not with big returns.

London has yet to find the end zone this season, but he had a breakout performance in Week 3, and has a better chance of scoring a long touchdown on Monday night. All of our King of the End Zone winners this season have been WRs, and London has a chance to continue that stretch with a long score on Monday.

In the first two weeks of the season, he had a total of six catches for 80 yards while working with Cooper Rush, who started in place of Tua Tagovailoa (oblique) and Michael Penix Jr. (knee). With Penix back under center last Thursday against the Packers, London was unlocked, though, and racked up 194 receiving yards by catching 9 of his 10 targets.

London is a big-play specialist who had a 68-yard catch and should draw a heavy share of targets again in Week 4. The Saints have allowed a WR touchdown in each of their three games this season, and London has the best chance to continue that streak and get his first touchdown of the season on Monday.

2. Chris Olave (+120 Anytime TD)

On the other side of the matchup, the Saints have a clear No. 1 option at wide receiver as well. Olave was tied for the NFL lead in targets coming into the week, drawing 10+ targets in each of his three games this season. He has 22+ FPTS in each game this year, even though he only has one touchdown.

His score came in Week 2 in a big win over the Ravens:

Olave has a 29.0% target share and got three red zone targets last week against the Raiders, even though he didn’t get into the end zone. He is a strong candidate for King of the End Zone on Monday Night Football, even though his volume will also likely make him a popular play.

The OSU alum has played six games against the Falcons in his career and has scored one touchdown in his last three matchups with Atlanta. He faced them one time last year, racking up nine catches for 70 yards on 13 targets.

London and Olave are both strong candidates to extend the streak of wide receivers as King of the End Zone winners.

3. Juwan Johnson (+245 Anytime TD)

The Saints have heavily utilized tight end Juwan Johnson in their offense this season, and the veteran from Oregon has found the end zone three times in his three games this season.

Johnson ranks in the top 10 in tight end receiving yards and has a 15.3% target share through the first three weeks of the season. He caught a one-yard and a two-yard score last week against the Raiders and had a nine-yard touchdown catch against the Lions in Week 1.

Johnson has at least four targets in 14 straight games, and the Falcons have allowed three TE touchdowns in three games this season, with an average of 6.0 catches for 52.0 yards to the position.

So far, most of Johnson’s scores have been short touchdowns, but he gets enough volume that he could strike for a longer score and earn King of the End Zone honors this week if Tyler Shough continues to look his way regularly.
