Closing out the Week 4 NFL Sunday slate, the Lions will face off with the Panthers. The Lions enter with a 2-1 record on the season, while the Panthers are off to a 1-2 start.
Looking at the odds for the Week 4 SNF matchup, the Lions enter as 3.5-point favorites with -198 Moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Panthers hold +164 odds to pull off the upset, with the game total set at O/U 51.5 points.
But there are plenty of ways to get involved in the action beyond backing a side or total. Let’s take a look at my top three favorite player props for the Week 4 Sunday Night Football matchup. Lions vs. Panthers Odds

Lions vs. Panthers NFL Player Prop Bets for Sunday Night Football
Amon-Ra St. Brown Anytime Touchdown (-130)
It has been an elite start to the season for St. Brown. The four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has recorded 23 receptions on 35 targets for 228 yards and five total touchdowns through the opening three games. St. Brown tallied two touchdowns in Weeks 1 and 2, and was held to just one last week against the Jets.
He will now prepare to face a vulnerable Panthers defense, which has struggled greatly this year. Through the opening three weeks, Carolina ranks 26th in opponents’ points allowed, 28th in total yards conceded, and is set to be without Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson at the cornerback position.
The level of volume that St. Brown is seeing in the red zone is especially noteworthy. The two-time first-team All-Pro pass catcher leads the league with nine red zone targets and has pulled in eight of these receptions thus far. He also finished last season with an NFL-best 34 targets inside the 20-yard line and trailed only Davante Adams for targets inside the 10. The team total for the Lions is set at 28.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook, and this is a matchup where they should be expected to make a few stops in the end zone. Count on St. Brown continuing to be the top target and reach pay dirt for the fourth straight game and the sixth time this season.
Jahmyr Gibbs Over 94.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
The days of Gibbs sharing carries are a thing of the past. The three-time Pro Bowler is the clear workhorse in the Detroit backfield and has made the most of these opportunities. Through the opening three weeks of the season, the Alabama product has tallied 65 of the 74 total rush attempts and converted these to 307 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Gibbs has also added 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air.
This is a great matchup to add to this, as Carolina has shown no ability to stop the run this season. The Panthers enter Week 4 ranking dead last in rushing yards allowed and net yards per rush attempt allowed. In the opening week, the Bears gashed the Panthers for 291 total rushing yards with two running backs recording 100+ yards on the ground. In Week 2, the Falcons rushed for 157 total rushing yards, and the Browns tallied 132 rushing yards last week.
Gibbs has finished with 156, 52, and 99 rushing yards in his three games this season. He has tallied 113 or more scrimmage yards in all three games. Expect the rushing attack to be the main pathway to production in this matchup and for the Lions to lean on their star running back in a major way, especially given the matchup advantage. Gibbs is tied for fourth in the league for rushing yards and rushing attempts per game, 11th in yards per carry, and second in missed tackles forced. Expect the Lions star to be eager to add to his strong start against his most favorable matchup to this point.
Bryce Young Over 242.5 Passing Yards (-113)
It has been a turbulent start to Young’s NFL career. The former number one overall pick has had some notable highs and lows through his first four years in the league. But it has been an encouraging overall start to Young’s season. Through the first three weeks, he has thrown for 939 passing yards and seven touchdowns. He has thrown for 361, 287, and 291 passing yards across the three games, surpassing 242.5 passing yards in each.
Expect this trend to continue in a matchup that will require the Panthers to put up points at a high rate, and a Lions defense that is weak through the air. Entering this Week 4 matchup, Detroit ranks dead last in opponents’ points allowed and 31st in total yards conceded. Looking just at the pass defense, the Lions rank 32nd in passing yards conceded, 31st in passing touchdowns allowed, and 27th in EPA per pass play. Tyler Shough shredded Detroit for 410 passing yards in the season opener, Josh Allen notched 248 passing yards against them in Week 2, and Geno Smith recorded 321 passing yards against the Lions most recently.
Young looks to be finally turning a corner in his career and has an extremely favorable matchup to continue adding to this. The Panthers quarterback has tallied over 242.5 passing yards in all three matchups thus far, and the Lions have allowed all three quarterbacks they have faced to clear this total thus far. Expect Carolina to need to air the ball out at a high rate due to the scoring production from the Lions, and for Young to tally passing yards at a high rate again tonight.
