Jahmyr Gibbs Rushing Yards Pick for Lions vs. Panthers

Jahmyr Gibbs and the Lions will close out the Week 4 Sunday slate with a matchup against the Panthers. Detroit enters with a 2-1 record to start the year, while the Panthers are attempting to get back to .500 after dropping two of their three games to start the season.

Looking at the odds for the SNF matchup, the Lions enter as 3.5-point favorites and hold -198 odds to win outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Panthers hold +164 odds to produce the upset, with the game total set at O/U 51.5 points.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the action. You can check out the preview for the game outlook and plenty more on DraftKings Network here. But let’s look at my top Jahmyr Gibbs prop bet for tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup.

Jahmyr Gibbs Best Rushing Yards Pick vs. Panthers

Jahmyr Gibbs Over 96.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

The list of running backs playing better football than Gibbs is slim. Through the opening three weeks, the three-time Pro Bowler has tallied 65 rush attempts for 307 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Gibbs has also added 156 receiving yards and a pair of scores through the air. After being limited to split carries at the start of his career, Gibbs has established himself as the clear workhorse. He has taken 65 of the 74 total rush attempts by Detroit so far this season.

This is a great matchup to add to his production, as the Panthers have struggled to stop the run this season. Carolina entered the week ranking dead last in both total rushing yards allowed and net yards per rush attempt. They were gashed for 291 rushing yards by the Bears in the season opener, with both De’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai recording over 100 yards on the ground. In Week 2, the Falcons tallied 157 rushing yards while the Browns produced 132 yards on the ground last week.

Gibbs has finished with 156, 52, and 99 rushing yards across the three games this season, and tallied 113 or more scrimmage yards in all three games. Detroit leans on him heavily, as Gibbs is tied for fourth in the league in rushing yards and rushing attempts per game. He also ranks 11th in yards per carry and second in missed tackles forced.

It has become evident in the early weeks that Detroit is leaning on Gibbs at an even greater rate this season. With his most favorable matchup of the season thus far, expect this to remain the case tonight. The Lions’ star has big play potential on every given touch and is capable of a long touchdown at any moment. Expect Gibbs to see a high volume of chances and record over 96.5 rushing yards against the struggling Panthers’ rushing defense.
