Jared Goff and the Lions will close out the Week 4 Sunday slate with a matchup against the Panthers. Carolina has slipped to 1-2 through the opening three weeks, while Detroit has picked up victories in two of their first three matchups.
Looking at the odds for the SNF matchup, the Lions enter as 3.5-point favorites and hold -198 odds to win outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Panthers hold +164 odds to produce the upset, with the game total set at O/U 51.5 points.

Jared Goff to Record 3+ Passing Touchdowns (+210)
The Detroit Lions have continued to lean on their identity as a high-octane offense, ranking third in the league in scoring thus far. Jared Goff is at the heart of the production and has completed 70.6% of his pass attempts this season for 802 yards, eight touchdowns, and has yet to throw an interception. Goff threw two touchdowns against the Jets and Saints, and tallied four passing scores in the matchup with the Bills so far this season.
Detroit will now turn their attention to a vulnerable Carolina Panthers’ defense that has some real concerns. Through the opening three games, Carolina ranks 26th in the league by allowing 27.7 points per game. The Panthers rank 28th in total yards conceded, and these concerns will be further magnified with Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson each out injured at the cornerback position. Jahmyr Gibbs is a monster in his own right and will see plenty of chances on the ground. But it should be noted that two of Goff’s passing touchdowns have come through the air to the star running back. Detroit has also tallied eight passing scores to the four rushing touchdowns so far this season.
The team total for the Lions is set at 27.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook for this matchup, and Detroit has scored 31 points in each matchup thus far. Taking on the most vulnerable defense they have faced so far this season, expect multiple trips to the end zone and for Goff to be responsible for pulling the strings of the offense. With Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Jameson Williams each dangerous weapons through the air, count on the Lions spreading out the vulnerable defense and having a pathway to three scores through the air.
The standard passing touchdown prop for Goff is set at 1.5, with the over favored at -184 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. While I am obviously in favor of backing this line as well, Goff tallied 3+ passing touchdowns in five games last year and has cleared this bar once already this season. Expect Detroit to make a focused effort to break open the scoring in this game and take advantage of the vulnerable Carolina defense tonight.
