Darren Waller receiving yards pick vs. Lions
It seems like an annual storyline that Darren Waller is making an NFL comeback of some sort. After not playing a game in 2024, Waller suited up nine times for the Dolphins in 2025. Six of his 24 receptions were for touchdowns, but his season ended early once again.
This time around, Waller is reviving his career in Carolina. Through three games, his role has only continued to grow — hauling in 10-of-13 targets for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Waller’s heaviest workload came last week in a loss to the Browns, securing 5-of-8 targets for over 50 yards.
With a receiving yardage prop that opening in the high 20’s and got bet to the low 30’s, I still think we’re getting a good price on betting Waller over. However, this matchup against the Lions calls for a more aggressive play on ladders and touchdowns.
Take whatever the worst defense you’ve seen against the tight end position is, likely the Bengals of past seasons, and essentially double the production it allowed. That’s the Lions defense this season.
Through three games, Detroit is allowing an average of 9.7 receptions for 117 yards to opposing TE. The Lions have given up a whopping six touchdowns to the TE position. Five opposing TE have gone for 30 or more receiving yards in this matchup … in three games!
I’m taking Waller’s yardage prop here as my main play, but I’m making multiple smaller plays on Waller having a big game in this primetime spot.
