Christian Watson has three touchdowns through two games, and I’m backing him to get another one on Thursday Night Football. Watson is eighth in receiving yards in the NFL and only two players have caught more touchdown passes than him through two weeks.

Looking at the odds, the Packers enter as six-point favorites and hold -278 odds to win outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Falcons hold +225 odds to produce the upset, with the game total set at 44.5 points.

Through two weeks, Christian Watson leads Green Bay in targets; he is tied for the most catches; he has the most receiving yards and the most touchdowns on the team. Green Bay has yet to record a rushing touchdown, and only one other Packer (MarShawn Lloyd) has caught a touchdown pass while Watson has three.

Not only is Watson a threat to score on a big play, but he is also tied for the most red zone targets on the team. Watson caught two touchdown passes in Week 1 vs. the Vikings, and followed that up with another last Sunday against the Jets in a game that was severely impacted by weather. Through two weeks, he already had 50% of his touchdown grabs a season ago, when he caught six.

With the shakeups to the wide receiver room this offseason and the recent injury to Jayden Reed and with Tucker Kraft still dealing with injury issues, Watson is the clear number one receiving option for Green Bay, followed by Matthew Golden. If Jordan Love tosses a few touchdown passes on Thursday, which I believe he will, expect Watson to be on the end of one of them. The Falcons held Aaron Rodgers to one touchdown pass in the opening week, but Bryce Young got them for three in Week 2. I expect Thursday’s game to be a similar result for Jordan Love and company.
