So while The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day have been shattering box office records, Evil Dead Burn got left in the dust. For context, Insidious scored a $13.3 million opening back in 2011, setting the stage for Insidious Chapter 2 to post a $40.3 million opening weekend in 2013. Insidious Chapter 3 went on to open to $22.7 million in 2015, while Insidious: The Last Key opened to $29.6 million in 2018 and Insidious: The Red Door got started with $33.0 million in 2023. Adjusted for inflation, Insidious Chapter 2 owns the franchise’s largest opening at $59.2 million, followed by Insidious: The Last Key at $38.8 million, Insidious: The Red Door at $36.1 million and Insidious Chapter 3 at $32.2 million. The original Insidious opened to an adjusted $20.0 million.
According to Deadline, Insidious: Out of the Further made $3.0 in domestic Thursday night previews. That cash is technically counted as part of the film’s $10.7 million Friday gross. It proceeded to make an estimated $8.7 million on Saturday and $5.8 million on Sunday. Insidious: Out of the Further posted the third-largest domestic opening weekend by a horror movie so far in 2026. Backrooms opened the highest at $81.4 million, followed by Scream 7 at $63.6 million. Insidious: Out of the Further opened above Iron Lung‘s $18.2 million, Evil Dead Burn‘s $13.7 million, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy‘s $13.5 million, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple‘s $12.5 million and Primate‘s $11.2 million.
Looking beyond the United States and Canada, Insidious: Out of the Further has reeled in an additional $35.0 overseas. In total, the film grossed $60.1 million worldwide over its opening weekend. After the original Insidious grossed $99.9 million globally, Insidious Chapter 2 made $161.9 million, Insidious Chapter 3 made $120.5 million, Insidious: The Last Key made $172.8 million and Insidious: The Red Door made $186.3 million.
