The summer box office got quite a shot in the arm between The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day shattering records at the end of July. But while those two blockbusters are still dominating cineplexes nationwide, some comedic counter-programming is looking to get a piece of the action. Super Troopers 3 hit theaters on August 7, continuing the cult-classic franchise. So how much business did the Vermont-based police comedy reel in over its first three days on the big screen?

For comparison, Super Troopers opened to $6.2 million back in February 2002, while Super Troopers 2 opened to $15.2 million in April 2018. Adjusted for inflation, the original effectively made $11.6 million over its opening weekend, still outdone by the sequel’s $20.2 million adjusted opening.
According to Deadline, Super Troopers 3 made $350K in domestic Thursday night previews. That cash is technically counted as part of the film’s $1.7 million Friday gross. Super Troopers 3 posted the third-largest domestic opening weekend by an R-rated comedy so far in 2026. Scary Movie still owns the No. 1 spot in that category with its $54.3 million opening in June, while The Invite‘s expansion into wide release in July sits at No. 2 with its $5.9 million. Rounding out the top five are I Love Boosters at $3.8 million and Stop! That! Train! at $2.0 million, with Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and its $1.3 million opening getting bumped to No. 6.
Looking beyond the United States and Canada, Super Troopers 3 has reeled in an additional $181K overseas. In total, the film grossed $4.2 million worldwide over its opening weekend.. The first Super Troopers finished with $23.2 million worldwide, only $4.7 million of which came from international markets. Super Troopers 2 made $32.0 globally, but just $1.3 million internationally.
