Another Power of Veto competition is on deck for tonight’s episode of Big Brother, and Kamu is looking to run back the same backdoor playbook the Toolshed used on Rome last week.

LaTrice, Mallory and Lyric are the official nominees for eviction — but Kamu’s real target is Jason. Here’s everything to know about Wednesday’s episode, including the air time, how to watch and what to expect.

What happened last time on Big Brother Season 28?

Kamu won the Week 3 HOH competition in a wrestling-themed trivia challenge, keeping the Toolshed in power for a third consecutive week. He nominated LaTrice, Mallory and Lyric for eviction, but told Jason in the HOH room he wouldn’t nominate him that day — emphasis on that day. The plan, suggested by Drew, is to backdoor Jason the same way Devens backdoored Rome last week: nominate other targets, then use the veto to pull someone off and slide Jason in as the replacement.

Meanwhile, Devens won the Diamond Power of Veto in the BB Time Capsule — a power that lets him remove someone from the block AND name the replacement instead of the HOH. It’s good for six weeks and for now no one knows he has it. No one except Dee, that is. She’s the ONLY one Devens has told, and that includes their ally Angela.

The Drew-Melody connection is also heating up. Both insist they’re not in a showmance, but the house isn’t buying it — and Dee and Angela continue to see Melody as a tool they can use against Drew.

What to expect on Big Brother tonight

The veto competition

Everything hinges on tonight’s veto. For the backdoor to work, Rome has to have an opportunity to replace a nominee. Jason especially cannot win the Power of Veto — and ideally, he isn’t even picked to play. If a Toolshed member wins, one of the nominees comes off and Jason goes up. If Jason plays and wins, the plan is dead and the alliance has to pivot to sending home one of LaTrice, Mallory or Lyric (or whoever would be the potential replacement nominee).

Jason already suspects he’s in danger. He read through Kamu’s carefully worded promise about not nominating him “today” and knows what that language means. He escaped the block last week by winning the BB Blockbuster. Now he needs the nominations to remain the same or in a worst-case scenario another clutch competition performance in the BB Blockbuster on Thursday.

The nominees’ situations

LaTrice is on the block because, as Kamu bluntly stated, she hasn’t talked game to him once all season. That’s a problem. LaTrice has the Honor Society (Dee, Angela, Taylor) and her connection with Jason, but she’s been coasting socially in a way that finally caught up to her.

Mallory is pissed — and rightfully frustrated that she’s back on the block while others haven’t touched it once. She’s been on the wrong side of the numbers all season, and her meeting with Kamu went sideways when she named Dee and Devens as her targets, not knowing Kamu is aligned with them. That said, Mallory has shown fight. She won the veto in Week 1. She’s been actively trying to recruit Barrett to her side. She is seen as a threat in the house and if she can’t pull herself off the block, she could find herself on the hot seat come Thursday.

Lyric was told by Kamu she’s a pawn and his real target is Jason. She didn’t love hearing it — nobody wants to sit on the block — but if the plan holds, she should be safe. The bigger question for Lyric is whether being the go-to pawn becomes a recurring problem now that Rome isn’t around to absorb attention.

Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto

The elephant in the room that nobody in the house knows about. Devens has a six-week power that lets him remove a nominee AND name the replacement — overriding the HOH entirely. He doesn’t need to use it this week while the Toolshed is in control, but the fact that it exists changes the calculus for weeks to come.

If the Toolshed ever loses power, Devens can unilaterally protect himself or an ally and redirect the target. It also means that anyone who takes a shot at the icons has to account for a power they don’t know exists. If you know Devens from Survivor, you know he loves playing with idols — real and fake. Now imagine that energy with six weeks of runway.

Drew’s influence keeps growing

Drew suggested the Jason backdoor plan to Kamu, and Kamu loved it. Drew also has the Handymen alliance with Kamu, giving him direct access to this week’s HOH.

He’s playing all sides in the house right now, with alliances all over the place tying him to just about every player in the game. His power ranking at No. 1 reflects how much of the game flows through him.

However, there is some danger that hasn’t gone away. Dee and Angela still don’t trust him. Angela still wants to backdoor Drew, but this wasn’t the week for it because Kamu is too close to Drew. If the icons ever get a clean shot at Drew without blowing up their game, they just might take it.
