Canada vs. Qatar prediction, pick for Thursday 6/18/26

Best Bet for Canada vs. Qatar

  • Canada Win and Under 3.5: Both of these teams faced a European team in the opening round of matches, and both games ended in a 1-1 draw. I’m expecting another low-scoring affair, but the Canadians should have too much for a Qatar side that was lucky to end up with a point against the Swiss.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup continues on Thursday as Canada hosts Qatar in the second round of matches in Group B.

Let’s dive into my favorite bet for this match.

Canada vs. Qatar Prediction, Pick

Canada is currently ranked 32nd in the FIFA rankings, while Qatar sits at 49th in the world.

This bet can be found under the “Match Parlays” tab. Canada will be slightly disappointed with their start to the World Cup. They were the only host nation that failed to win their opening match, but the good news is that they have an opportunity to right that wrong against Qatar. Even though they only ended with a point, Canada were the better side against a tough Bosnian team. They finished with more expected goals, more possession, more shots and more shots on goal. On another day, they would’ve won that game.

Even though they finished with the same result, the same can’t be said for Qatar. They were lucky to get a draw out of their game against Switzerland, and a 94th minute equalizer saved the day. They finished with three times fewer expected goals, 32% possession, 20 fewer shots and four fewer shots on target. The Swiss missed five big chances, compared to just one for Qatar. If they played that game 10 times in a row, Switzerland would probably win nine of them. That’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes in the World Cup.

Both of these teams finished with two total goals scored in their respective opening matches, and I expect another cagey affair here. That being said, Canada is definitely the better team here and I would be shocked if they didn’t bounce back with a win in front of their home crowd against arguably the weakest team in Group B.

Best Bet: Canada Win and Under 3.5 (-115)
